Sad news. the Nation Network reaps the benefits of this loss. nhlnumbers.com is about to explode.

Prayers for you Matthew.
He's a young guy.
I remember researching about the site a few years ago due to curiosity.
Heres an old article: http://hockeyjournal.com/2010/26_mat...an_behind.html

My first thought was that the NHL was clamping down on what public information was allowed. If this was the case than the site wouldn't have any value and so couldn't be sold. It says it was for health reasons of the owner and that's that though, end of discussion but it seems kind of arbitrary.
I guess this will replace it.

That sucks!! Both about the owners health concerns and about the site closing down. I used it much and was a great resource.

Damn, hopefully someone takes over as has been suggested. Simply an awesome resource I've used in hundreds of arguments over a few drinks. Hoping his complications aren't too severe, although judging from the statement released they may be. Also just saw his request to avoid any purchase requests :/

Hopefully the reason he isn't looking to sell is because he expects to get better and be back to running the site soon.

Wow, that's too bad. Hope he'll be okay and get through whatever-it-is.
Awesome site. It's going to feel like we're back to the stone age, so to speak.

Just loved playing around with lines, recalls and trades in Armchair GM. Very sad news.

I love that site. I am on it at least once a day.
Best wishes to the guy.

As I put in the Addy Flames game thread, this is a huge loss. That was a great site to calculate waiver status as well as RFA/UFA status.

Doubt that, if he expected that he wouldn't shut it down and just have someone else take care of it for awhile. while updates would probably be slower it wouldn't be impossible as the site is basically just a calculator needing someone to put in the numbers.
