Bob Mckenzie: Flames could have had Nyquist and Tatar for Bouwmeester
According to Bob Mckenzie on TSN Radio in Toronto

I love the progress that Poirier has made but that package would have been unbelieveable.
Nyquist: GP: 57 G:28 A:20 P: 48
Tatar: GP: 73 G:19 A: 20 P: 39
Wouldn't have helped our size issue though as it would have added two more small wingers (both left handed shots) to the team.

Those were among the rumours if we had retained salary, not both, but one. If it was both ... well ####. I had though it was ownership that wouldn't retain, but seeing as Burke says retaining salary is no issue, it seems it was a prior GM decision.

This was what Pierre McGwire must have been referring to when he said that Detriot's package was far superior to the one the Flames got from StL, on the day of the trade.

F off if that is true.
Mackenzie isn't the type of guy to make stuff up.
And with Bouw making team Canada not out of the realm to think that Holland/Babcock liked him.

Um what
No but
What
HOLY CRAP I'M RELIEVED. You don't even understand how... wow.
I have difficulty buying the notion that Kenny is actually this dumb. He's given little indication of that level of Milburyness to date. I trust Bob but... man, that's a tough one to swallow.

What was the exact quote? Did Feaster turn that offer down or something?
EDIT : NM, I see it now. HOLY CRAP! Feaster sucks at trades...... no wonder Burke said Feaster doesn't get enough value for his trades.

Well hopefully Poirier pans out, and I really think he will.
Where is the dislike button for this thread? This makes me sad..

Nyquist had 28 goals in 57 games this season, turning 25 to start 2014-15.
Tarar had 39 points in 73 games. Will turn 24 in December.

Nyquist is a total stud, but a team just can't win games with Cammy Hudler Nyquist and Tatar in the top 6.
It does show you just how #### the value we got for Bouwmeester was.

To be fair, I'm not sure this would be my reaction a year ago.

Both of these guys are pretty much surefire top 6 guys IMO, and both have the potential to be 60+ point top 6 guys.
This is the biggest dodged bullet ever if it's true.
