Default My NHL Draft Lottery Show (draw is complete)

In today's GT there was a discussion on how unfair it was that the Pens got Crosby and how it will be equally unfair that McDavid will probably go to a team that the NHL wants him to go to (not Calgary)

Because there is no transparency in the NHL and we can't actually see the lottery, we are suspicious.

So if I am God the NHL Commissioner, I'm going to change a couple of things and make a tv show!

1. All non-playoff teams have a chance to get the #1 spot and other positions. Not just one team getting #1 and then other teams not changing order.

2. There will be 32 balls in the pot and it will be weighted this way.

30th place 5/32 = 15.625%
28th-29th place 4/32 = 12.5%
26th-27th place 3/32 = 9.375%
22nd-25th place 2/32 = 6.25%
17th-21st place 1/32 = 3.125%

going by last years order
Florida 5 balls
Colorado 4 balls
Tampa Bay 4 balls
Nashville 3 balls
Carolina 3 balls
Calgary 2 balls
Edmonton 2 balls
Buffalo 2 balls
New Jersey 2 balls
Dallas 1 ball
Philadelphia 1 ball
Phoenix 1 ball
Winnipeg 1 ball
Columbus 1 ball

3. All 32 balls will be drawn one by one but not opened. They will then be opened in reverse order and the team that runs out of balls first will pick 14th and the team that runs out of balls 2nd will pick 13th and so on until the team that runs out of balls last (obviously the first ball chosen) will pick first.

got it?

So I have randomized the list of 32 balls and sent it to Photon (so there is no cheating!)

Please I need 32 assistants. One by one choose a number from 1 to 32 and remove it from the list below and name a celebrity or hockey legend (not current player) and you are representing

Answer the following questions as your representative

"When did you become a hockey fan?"

I'll take 1 on behalf of Scarlett Johansson's left breast. I first became a hockey fan when me and my best friend caught a puck at a game we went to with our agent in 2007.

I will take #14 for Theoren Fleury, since he is the reason I am a Flames fan to begin with.

Been a hockey fan since I was a child, can't remember the age, my dad was a huge Hab fan when I was a kid.

Markus Naslund is proud to select # 19 for Modo.

EDIT: I became a hockey fan when I was a weeeee little lad, sneaking around with the portable 3X4 inch black and white tv/radio, sneaking in a few games after bed time. I got caught watching hockey at night quite a few times.

to be honest with you I kind of lost my love of being a hockey fan after playing. In Edmonton. It wasn't until I played for Canada that I was able to really appreciate the sport and enjoy it again.

I, Jay Feaster, am proud to select #26, as that is how many cheeseburgers I've crushed in the past 48 hours. I first became a hockey fan while reading blogs in my moms basement.

Does this not give the last place team about 50% chance of picking in the top 4? That seems like an exceedingly low number.

Number four, Bobby Orr. I became a hockey fan when I was 4. Some family member of mine bought me a Oilers sweater for my birthday and put it on me. When my dad got in from work, he saw me, and went straight to the kitchen and grabbed a pair of scissors. Sweater on the floor, and the rest is history.
