High River Minor Hockey - Hockey Equipment Donations

One arena in High River was completely flooded. At this arena all of their game jerseys, practice jerseys, goalie gear (they supply to all minor teams up to Bantam), pinnies, practice pucks, and everything else that goes along with running a minor hockey club has been destroyed. Their Junior B team lost everything as well. As most people in the community were lucky to get out of their homes with their bare essentials, everything else was lost.

Want to help out! McKnight is donating all of their used jerseys, and we ask to please go through all of your hockey equipment looking for gently used equipment and bring it to our Hockey Equipment Round Up for High River! We will gather up any equipment you have and will get it to our High River families through our Hockey Alberta Zone 5 Director, Tamara Robbins. Tamara is doing everything she can to help these families prepare to play hockey in September.

Cash donations also being accepted.

Very successful equipment drive today. 150+ pairs of skates and all sorts of other equipment donated. I imagine hockey is the last thing a lot of High River residents are thinking about now, but when the time comes and hockey is about to start it will be one less burden they will have to worry about.

We are only one of many hockey associations in Calgary. Hopefully others follow suit and do similar. I know Crowfoot is doing something similar next month.
