That's awesome.
I still remember in 93 when Daigle was drafted and he was going to be a franchise player......

Did you say that on purpose? Saying that in a season like this where the season is short and the Flames are off to another slow start is tempting fate.

And weren't the 92-93 Sharks the worst team ever?

The Washington Capitals, 1974-75.
8 wins - 67 losses - 5 ties - 21 points. They only won 1 game on the road.

haha what, of course I said it on purpose, I said it because it's a fact. The talk was about first round draft picks, teams that haven't drafted first and I said thought "first??, the Flames haven't even drafted 5th, 4th, 3rd, or 2nd!"
There is no tempting fate or any other reason behind mentioning.
Crazy guy!

Not only that, but I believe they are the only team to never have drafted in the top 5.

^^^ The Flames drafted second overall in 1972 (Jacques Richard) and 1973 (Tom Lysiak) back in the Atlanta days.

So even then, the franchise hasn't had a top 5 pick in 40 years - certainly longer than any other franchise in the NHL.
I think once there are no more players left from that last draft (in this case, 1973) and all previous drafts from that point, it's fair to start the count over again. It's been practically 2 generations (in the hockey sense) since the Flames had a top 5.

That's an awesome pic! As for drafting high, I think this is the Flames year. I hope Kipper goes to the BJ's (new Finnish GM) and a few other trades spiral us down and we end up with not only the top pick but a second pick in the top 10

Twice actually. Turgeon in '87 and Perreault in '70.
