I just arrived in San Diego with my brother and a bunch friends. What's good here? I'm open to any suggestions regarding food, bars, clubs anything really. We're all in our late 20's or early 30's. I would like to stay downtown and I would like to try some decent sushi (but let's not turn this into another sushi thread).

Sorry to respond to a question with a question, but why didn't you plan your trip before landing? Then, the first thing that you could think to do is to log into CP? You're in one of the finest cities in the US! Be friendly and ask the locals for recommendations. So as not to admonish you too much, fish tacos can be found pretty much anywhere in SD.

Well to be fair, we did plan things out a bit, I'm just seeing if someone on CP has some decent suggestions that we missed.
Fish tacos and In-N-Out are my San Diego go-to meals, but I highly recommend a day trip to Tijuana as long as you get away from the tourists as quickly as possible. If you're interested in heading down there, I've got some suggestions, but won't clutter your thread otherwise.
Edit: One of the Tijuana places that I was going to recommend is a street taco place called Tacos el Gordo. Some of the finest tacos you'll ever have. The carne asada tacos and lengua (beef tongue) tacos are my favorites, but they're all good other than the brain, which I haven't tried. Anyway, I just found out that they have a location in Chula Vista 10 minutes from downtown San Diego, and it's supposed to be nearly as good as the TJ location, so you may want to check that out.

Gas Lamp District will be going off tonight and tomorrow night. Every type of place you could imagine down there. Pubs, clubs, lounges, music venues, etc. Its downtown, and there are tons of girls everywhere.
Mission Beach is awesome. Stop by the Wave House and try the flowrider. Its right by Belmont Park. Coronado Island is also super cool. La Jolla is worth checking out.
Try Anthonys for a seafood dinner. So good. Its right on the Harbour, near the old aircraft carrier, which you can tour. It has a bunch of old planes and helis on the deck.
San Diego is so fun. So much to do.

Sea World & the Zoo are world famous. If you and your friends like wine, Temecula Valley is about 1/2-way b/tw SD & LA. If you miss hockey, Phoenix or LA/Anaheim aren't long drives.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm going to Lync Conference 2013 in San Diego on the 18th, would be nice to know what sort of things there are to do in the evening.
Fish Market Restaurant....near USS Midway. Very cool & casual atmosphere. Great restaurant.
Gaslamp District. If you can't find a cool place to hang out or eat & drink here something is wrong.
Little Italy. Good food Good wine.
Seaport Village. Shops, cafes, artists, restaurants.
Mission Beach. Miles of beach, some bars & Wave House as mentioned.
Old Town San Diego. Cool place. Mexican type feel - restaurants, shops, lounges.
Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Google it. Stumbled upon it a few years ago. Cool setting & amazing views.
Altitude Skylounge. Great view from rooftop lounge at Marriott in Gaslamp.
