Yes, it's an exodus...
Two companies that have not surprised us by moving out of the core, Imperial and CPR (once confirmed).

Depends what you define as "the core." If it is bounded by the CPR tracks in the south, then yes they are looking outside the core. Not far at all outside though, so the rumour goes.

Ah excellent, this will surely alleviate the additional traffic in the area from IOL's move!
If anything, this will only help the downtown office crunch. Following link shows 528k sq.ft absorption last quarter, with 1.65 million sq ft. year to date. I think the core will be just fine, there are a ton of mid/large companies just itching to expand downtown, and I wouldn't be surprised if Brookfield's already got a new lease on IOL's Fifth Ave Place offices for after they leave.

I'm hoping my employer moves out of the core, about 300 employees. There's just no advantage to being downtown in our field. Free parking, less traffic problems and more space would be nice. Though there would be less lunch options

I also heard a rumour a while ago that Suncor was moving to the Westmount Campus near Garrison Woods, but haven't heard anything since then...

I work at Colliers International and contributed on the link that Ducay provided. Suncor is moving a portion of their non essential services (HR, supply chain management) to building 4 of Wesmount Corporate Campus (link here). I'd be more then happy to provide more information to anyone who is interested.
Question for you though. Where are you hearing CPR is moving to Ogden? I can't see to find any new story or link to confirm this.
Also where are you hearing this about ConocoPhillips looking to move? That would be interesting.

I talked to people at CP yesterday, and at that point it was just a rumour. Talking about exodus, Trimac is moving from the downtown to the NE in spring 2013

I know there has been talk about Husky moving their offices outside of downtown, possibly into a campus-type environment like Imperial.

I work for CP and nothing is confirmed yet there are rumors that we will maintain some form of downtown presence but it sounds like some groups will be moving down closer to the yard.

Maybe it is just a new version of white flight where the new and cool companies are moving in and it scares the old fashioned companies so they are leaving to the security of the suburbs where they can put a wall up to keep out crazy ideas like flex days and secretaries who don't put out.

I've heard that Encana is going to implode the Bow and build a sprawling campus in Langdon.
