Default January vacation recommendations

The kids don't go back to school until Jan 9th so we're looking for a warm-climate all-inclusive family vacation between Christmas and Jan 8th. Any suggestions / favorites?

Barbados.

Safe, hot, and fun.

Simply an amazing island, and I think Westjet fly direct during the winter.

Where do your kids go to school that they don't go back until the 9th? Calgary Catholic are back on the 7th and Public go back on the 8th.

We are heading to Hawaii for Christmas and New Year and coming back on the 5th. Not all inclusive though. I think that will limit your choices a bit.

Also, we booked about 6 weeks ago and now those flights and hotels are not available any more.

Surprise your kids on Christmas morning by telling them to pack their bags, they're going to the Bahamas. They'll love it. I've never been to the Bahamas but our neighbors went and they said it was great.

My parents surprised me like that when I was 10 with a trip to Disneyland, and Holy Dinah that was an awesome Christmas morning.

I just came back from the Bahamas and loved it. The kids would love Atlantis but it's an expensive place to stay. Great and relaxing place for adults as well.

I think your dates are quite wrong. Both Calgary school boards return to class tomorrow; and the 8th is Saturday.

They probably slipped a PD day in there. Lucky you, an extra day of vacation!

If you like cold, snow, rough roads and heavy set ladies in snow suits, try going to Edmonton. The have a really large mall there.....l

Calgary-Nassau direct on WestJet over Christmas is already booking up, definitely book soon.

I can say on very very good authority that the sooner you can book your Christmas vacation flights the better. You would be shocked how many people book 6-months to a year ahead for those flights (likewise with spring break which is also booking up) and many sun destinations only have one or two flights a week (136 seats/flight is not a lot....).

Cheers,
Claeren
