Very bright star/planet to the west
Couldn't find an astronomy or related thread...
Anyways, there is an incredibly bright star/planet to the west tonight- not sure if any astronomy buffs might not what it is?
either way, have a peek- especially if you have a telescope.

Venus has been very bright in the west after sun-set for about a month or two. Jupiter is the next brightest object not far below Venus.
Mars is over-head in the South East. A bright red object.

Saturn rises in the East, and will be in opposition mid-month (appearing bigger and brighter than normal).

Thanks, hope I don't sound like a goof pointing it out- don't know squat about astronomy and thought it was pretty cool.

Seriously, cats don't have hearts, everyone knows that.
No bones either, no one actually knows what's inside a cat, it's been a great mystery for thousands of years. The only person to every have successfully cornered a cat and caught it with the intention of opening it up vanished when the knife pricked the cats skin. The cat was fine, though it did have a preference for brandy after that.

I did a paper in zoology on HCM in felines. poor little buggers. Also did a lot of research on the effect of smoking and various other stimulants in people with Atrial Fibrillation. Now that I have forgotten everything, Im trying to decide how much of my degree was a waste...

Heh, that's when you REALLY know you're getting old.
I still have some of my hardest math texts when I did my degree, not sure why I keep them. I tell myself it's to prove to myself I really am still smart enough to understand them if I wanted to, but it certainly doesn't feel like it when I look through them and feel like I'm looking up the side of a mountain.

If you have an iphone get the skyview ap. It is really handy for this kind of thing, you just focus on it with your viewfinder and it will tell you what it is. For non astronomy types like me who are curious but not serious.
