Default Hockey Night in Canada Trivia Game Help

Hey.

So, one of my kids brought home a a trivia game produced by CBC sports called "Our Game: So You Think You Know Hockey?" My kids are anxious to play it, however, the game is missing the instruction sheet. I have tried to locate the rules online but have been unable to do so. Does anyone own this game? And if so, would you be willing to scan-and-send me a copy of the rules?

Does the box say 2004 on the bottom?

If so, yes, I have that game and I have the instructions and what's in it for me?

Hey Textcritic, here's the rules. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner, so I'll just type them out exactly as they are here:

Objective: To collect all six coloured pucks before your opponents and become the hockey trivia master.

Rules of the Game:

Highest roll of the die will determine who goes first.
  1. All players must start play from the "HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA" logo in the centre of the game board. Players will roll the die and may leave the centre logo in either direction, but when they enter the playing surface players must always move in a clockwise direction.
  2. When a player lands on a squire, they are asked a question in the corresponding category. See the question cards for a list of colour-coded categories. Player to the person's right will ask the question.
  3. If a correct answer is given, player may roll again, otherwise the player will remain on the square until their next turn.

Collecting Pucks:

In order to collect a "puck," a player must correctly answer a question while positioned on a square in "The Offensive Zone". THere are two "Offensive Zones" and they begin as players cross the blue lines at each end of the playing surface. "The Offensive Zones" are easily distinguished by the photographs superimposed on each square. (i.e., Player lands on a yellow "Records" square in "The Offensive Zone" and correctly answers a yellow "Records" question. That player collects a yellow "Records" puck). Players then continue to roll the die and move in a clockwise direction around the playing surface.

To Win the Game:

Players who have collected all 6 pucks must roll the die and travel to the "Hockey Night In Canada" logo on the centre of the game board. Once a player has reached the centre they do not have to move again and cannot lose any of their pucks for any reason. The player on the centre logo is asked a "Playoff" (Blue) question each time it is their turn. If they are incorrect they remain in the centre until their next turn. If the player successfully answers a "Playoff" (Blue) question, they are declared the hockey trivia master.

"I Don't Have a Clue" Cards:

If players land on any of the "I Don't Have A Clue" squares (marked by a question mark ?) they collect an "I Don't Have A Clue Card" which may be used immediately or saved for a future question. Each "I Don't Have A Clue Card" entitles a players to skip one question if they find it too difficult. They simply hand the card to the reader of the question and they receive a new question in the same category from a new question card. The card must be used before a player has attempted to answer the question and cannot be used after an incorrect answer. Once the clue card has been used, it must be returned to the pile. A player may use as many "I Don't Have A Clue Cards" as they wish, at any time, even when located on the centre logo attempting to win the game.

Bodycheck:

If at any time a player rolls the die and lands on the same square as an opponent, that player may CHOOSE to apply a "Bodycheck" to their opponent. However, a "Bodycheck" may only be applied if both players have at least one puck in their possession. If that player chooses to "Bodycheck" their opponent, they must clearly state their intention to do so. If the challenger correctly answers the question asked, they may remove one of their opponent's pucks and return it to the game box. However, if the challenger fails to answer the question, their opponent can remove one of the challenger's pucks and return it to the game box, so be careful when considering a "Bodycheck".

Faster Play Options:

Powerplay: Players continue around the playing surface until they have collected 5 pucks. After collecting 5 pucks they may declare, "I'm on a POWERPLAY." This allows the player to remain in either of "The Offensive Zones" on a permanent basis and move in any direction with the roll of the die until they have collected their sixth and final pick.

Overtime: Players can collect question pucks anywhere on the playing surface until they have collected their sixth and final puck.

Additional Information:

Players may NOT make reference to any source of hockey trivia information to answer a question but may do research to verify the validity of an answer.

Thanks Puxlut and PMM...

I'm really sorry to anyone who suffered unnecessarily for looking at pictures of MMF's junk.
