Shooting at Virginia Tech
A police officer has been shot, and it is believed that there is another victim as well. The campus is on lockdown.

This is actually the second incident since then. The other had to do with something off campus, but a gunman was seen running onto campus and they locked everything down. Seems like that was at the begining of school in 2010.
Hopefully this turns out to be benign, like this other incident did.

I just read that it started with a traffic stop so this may or may not have anything to do with the school.

Update as of 14:00ET in the original link says that two people, including the police officer have died

Its interesting that its been fata'd so many times because theres no posts in the original thread.
And, I hate to suggest that theres now been so many shooting at Virginia Tech that its almost old hat;

Well now it is believed that the gunman who shot the officer proceeded to shoot himself, and is believed to be the second victim of the shooting. Police are saying the suspected gunman is not the same person that was stopped in the traffic stop earlier.

Same here. And why? Who is constantly shooting people and why? Maybe theres an underlying cause here that can be rectified.
Either that or VT is just full of really shootable people...
