Come on guys... How about a little optimism? The caps are good but if the flames play with some confidence and play the team game that they need to play... They can win on any given night against any team

Maybe a traditionalist.... Burke I believe did it with Anaheim, but not a big fan of the football type numbers on the team. Forced the team to choose numbers below 40 I believe.

looking forward to seeing Baertschi and Monahan on a line together.
I'm going to be optimistic and say Ramo goes 2.16 gaa this year, but I think its going to end up more a result of how the defense plays in front of him and I'm not as optimistic about that! I think he will provide us with some entertainment regardless of how many shots the blue liners let through.

The problem being, Ramo is used to playing on the best team in his league
Should be interesting

This is not going to be pretty, so look for bright spots.

It will be big surprise if any Flames goalie has decent stats this year. Rämö and MacDonald are sacrificial goats.

I mean obviously I like Rämö but I have zero faith in a sub-3.00 gaa with that defense in front of him no matter how tough or easy the adjustment will be. Best he can hope for is to play well enough to stay in the NHL for another season.

Laugh Out Loud funny.
Gee, Harts, you let a country club roster dictate when they would practice, and it didn't turn out so good?
Does Hartley last the year? I doubt it.

That's 52 saves out of 56 shots! That would be a brutal game for the Flames! Still going to watch though.

The idea of optional practice for a team that is struggling is absolutely mind-boggling to me. Is it common for any team?

Pretty sure it was common for Florida, Tampa and Colorado too

I think the Flames will play hard tonight and that's all that matters to me.
I'm excited to see the Baertschi - Monahan - D. Jones line. I am not so excited to see Butler and Son Of a B pairing, especially if they get caught out there against the Ovi line, lol.

It's just dawning on me that this is our bottom 4:
Wideman-Russell
Butler-O'Brien

I have no issue with Russell and Wideman as the 2nd pairing. Russell is probably going to surprise a lot of people this season. I think he's a solid defenceman he just didn't get noticed on a defensively solid St. Louis lineup.

Well let's be fair here....it was a ridiculously compressed schedule with a bunch of older player's....this wasn't just a Flames thing.

Those second and third D pairings are gross.
I hope they roll the three lines fairly evenly. I actually like the makeup of the TJ/Backs/Hudler line. Will be interesting.
Also really like the Sven/Sean/Jones line. Two guys with size and Sven with insane talent and vision.

Holy smokes that's a damning admission.
Country Club indeed. What a joke the organization was over that three season period.

Agree - for now. Watched him play and he is actually a very good puck mover. I dont know if playing him with Wideman is necessarily smart, but options are limited.
