Lindholm and Markstrom pumping up their trade values. Now, Conroy has a week to get some deals done before they play again.
Conroy should be calling Tom Fitzgerald ASAP
to see what he can get for Markstrom cause NJ 2 goalies are not going to get them far in the playoffs if they get there.
That Hawks D lineup is gigantic - just UGE! They're not winning now and only losing by low scores right now but once they get the offence going, bulk up, and are cup contenders again, watch out!
Finally beat the Blackhawks. I'll allow it. Great game from Marky!

I wake up to find out that the team played pretty poorly and Marky stood on his head to give the illusion that they were the better team? Markstrom...just stop unless you're trying to get traded. You're giving the team and its fans hope.

Won't cheer for a loss, but I hope this pretty mediocre win doesn't change anyone in managements mind.
Change their minds? I don't even think they know which direction they're going with. It's like Flames win 3 games in a row and above .500 - they're thinking of doing a playoff run. Lose 3-4 games and just below .500 - their minds must be for a rebuild but probably keep the other eye looking to make the playoffs. It's this non-committal attitude in the organization that's killing their asset management.
The Flames played a lot of that game looking like it was Shane O'Brien who gave the pregame pep talk. Basically spelling out his plans for a trip to a tropical paradise with access to anything your heart desires.

The weak Blackhawk offense limps on. Four breakaways, yet, none seemed even close to threatening, like breaking away just to jam the puck into Markstrom's leg pad. Even with the goalie pulled, my guys couldn't get off the perimeter to attack "high danger" areas.
On the other hand, the Flames didn't, exactly, turn the screws on Mrazek, either. The one goal, a PP, was a lucky deflection off of a D-Man's skate straight to an open Lindholm's stick. Honestly, if Tinordi doesn't get in the way, that one is right to Mrazek's leg pad.
Just not much to see in the game last night. Your guy Kylington made some mental errors that the toothless Blackhawks couldn't do anything with. And his return seemed to be the only plotline of the whole contest.

Boris Katchouk isn't exactly anyone's first choice for the shootout. But yes, the Blackhawks offence looked abysmal. They are also missing basically their entire top 6: Bedard, Hall, Johnson, Athnasiou, and Beavillier.
Great game by Markstrom though. He definitely earned that shutout. The Flames defence strung him out on multiple occasions.
