That's what I mean, Danny coming full circle to finally see Johnny's side of things.
This was a story about redemption for Johnny Lawrence imo. It needs to end with his arch rival, the guy who potentially changed the trajectory of his life, giving him a bromance hand shake 80's style.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty intrigued and enjoyed it when it came out, but I stopped watching it a while back, I'd say I'm probably 2-3 seasons in arrears.
It lost me.

Heck I started this thread and this is me too, I think I stopped around season 3 and just never got back into it.

Yeah, it just seems like it lost its way at some point and Zabka was carrying it on his back and when that happens...theres a limit to that.
I thought the writing was really creative and interesting but then they just kept going back to the same well over and over again until it was dry and then I lost interest.
The characters got whiny and less interesting and Zabka just couldn't carry the whole thing anymore.

They did a really fun job of having the tables turned/new alliance storyline going through the first few seasons. I gave up during season 4 though. You can only watch people switch sides so many times before it loses its shock value.
It wasn't the main characters that made this show after the 3rd year. Daniel was really the villain, Johnny was awesome but he got kind of stale. Sam was annoying and mean spirited, Tory was a sympathetic villain.
Nope the best part of the show, John Kreese, and more so Terry Silver just chewing up the scenary.
I also loved that they bought back Mike Barnes.
But Terry Silver was much see TV.

I'll have to see what Kreese has in store for Terry Silver. I think in the end Kreese and Johnny will end up with Cobra Kai. Johnny and Tory were the two people that Kreese has a soft spot for.

Tory is the best kid character by far. Hawk a close second.
I think that the problem is the un-evenness of the characters.
For the most part the kids are flat and predictable, Sam being the worst. But in the middle of it they plopped Tory who is this really complex character with lots of layers.
Johnny's character was fun at first, but as he became more mature, I don't know, he lost something, though he was good for some great one liners.
I honestly felt that Daniel was the weak link on the show, and for the most part, he's really not that likeable as a hero, and he has no real hero's journey.
But they nailed the villains. They made Kreese somewhat sympathetic, he was an ####### because he was forced to be an #######. Silver was just a bad guy overall. He went to therapy, he knew what he did was wrong, but in the end, that little flicker of humanity that he had when he admitted that he traumatized a teenager was extinguished.
I would guess that Silver is going to use his power and influence to get out of prison, and the war is now a vengeful Kreese against Silver, in a battle for Johnny's soul.
On a side note, the best fight in that whole series so far was Robbie brutalizing Kenny.

I think Hawk is going to lose it and kill them all. The End.
I stopped a few seasons ago as well, but if they want me back, they should go full kickboxer and have the kids wrap their hands and dip them in glue and then broken glass.
