The same Eric Francis that thought the Flames would announce a Boudreau hire at today's presser...hahahaha.
Sure it very well could end up being Boudreau, but Francis is just pure speculating...he doesn't know any more than the rest of us on this one.

I went with someone else because I think the Flames will go off the board with the hiring. I think they want to bring in someone new with creativity to grow with the team.

According to Wikipedia, Mike Yeo has a daughter named Braeden and a son named Kyler. I don't want a monster who would do that to innocent children anywhere near this team.

I worry about how Sutter would deal with a completely non-physical player like Gaudreau.
You can't tell Gaudreau to play a gritty game.

He didn't seem to mind Huselius.

I'm guessing Darryl likes it when his roster has Top 10 point producers in it.

Did Gaborik play a gritty style? Even Kopitar isn't that gritty.
Sutter coaches to a players strengths. Always has.

To an extent. A guy like Raymond would still get chewed by Darryl.
What his system expects of his wingers is winning battles and races on the side walls to tip the puck to a streaking Conroy/Kopitar/Doughty etc for the carry-out.

I don't think Darryl Sutter is an option as I don't think he would be interested in coming back to a team that he ran as GM to become the head coach working under guys that replaced his regime and it would be mutual as Flames ownership wanted him fired in the first place and I think there would be plenty of opposition in the office as it wasn't a happy place under Darryl.

I voted Boudreau, but now I'm not so sure he is the 'right coach at the right time'.
Trying to think of the type of coach we need at this point. It may not be the perceived #1 coach on the market.

Yeah this is more what I was talking about.
Gaudreau is soft along the boards, yes he can steal the puck out from players and cycle well despite his size but he also can be flat out pinned into the boards and taken out the play entirely and it happened all the time last season. He's not going to be able to routinely dig the puck out in a battle like Sutter has his wingers do.
But you're right, Gaudreau is sort of an exception to the rule so you'd hope that Sutter would know better than to mess with one of the best forward in the division (who owned his team).

Treliving better not bring in his pal Tippett. Can't stand that jerk.

I just hope it's not Dallas Eakins. It will be interesting to see if any other coaching jobs open up too. Boudreau is the one big name that's out there, and he did take over underachieving teams in Washington and Anaheim and get them to a point where they could win regularly in the regular season. Although he's never been able to settle on a guy between the pipes to run with in those cities, which will be a problem in Calgary.

Well i guess at least if the flames hire him he won't have to coach against the rockets anymore - j/k
Though in all seriousness the flames did fire him after his loss in the whl finals in 2009 with that juggernaut hitmen team.
I just hope it's not crawford. Treliving showed lots of love for Huska in the interviews but that would be a big gamble... Organization might still be scarred from the playfair promotion. Boudreau would be a tough get, seems everyone wants him.

Kerr brought up Huska and Treliving was being a good boss praising one of his guys but I highly doubt he's the guy Treliving has in mind or will settle on.
