Default Flames vs Devils - 5:00 - SNF

That right side of the ice looks pretty deep now. Also sounds like we're getting close to sending someone down or put on waivers with everyone healthy again.

At this point the Flames acquiring a guy named WideDog and trading him is more likely than trading Dennis Wideman.

5-4 Flames. Gaudreau with a hatty, Bennett, and Monny with the others. Adam Larsson gets his first career hat trick with three lazy floater shots from the blue line on Hiller.

Former Flames having pretty good seasons in NJ:

Stempy with 10G 21A in 46GP
Cammalleri with 14G 21A in 38GP

Hope they're quiet tonight.

Is there a God and he is bad? Or is there no God?:

On the topic of Deryk Engelland, I was looking back at old threads for fun and found this post. Funny how things change over time and scary looking at how bad the prospects were.

* - I think Harvey and Bellemare should definitely go back to junior for their overage season. Prust could probably go either way. Pardy could be ready for pro hockey.

I guess we'll see which of the guys who can play junior or turn pro end up turning pro. To me Heintz looked the least advanced out of the UFA forwards we signed, he'd be my choice to go to the ECHL but that was only based on a rookie camp so this is all just a guess. Still don't see much in Engelland, I'd start him in the ECHL.
this isn't a news flash...but the thing with that Lowell list? outside of Evans, and arguably Krahn...not a single name there that you could consider a decent NHL callup for this season (whereas last year at least we started with Dome, Green,Davidson, Wallin, Sonnenberg etc)

hoping for a healthy Loyns to slip through there, but otherwise we've got nobody on 2 ways , right?

Last year in the Jersey, while Gaudreau was shut-out, he was flying. Some unlucky bounces, and maybe trying too hard, but he had a very good game, IMO.

Maybe 2nd time back, he will get it rolling.

Well since arizona lost the last couple games and we could gain some ground on them i guess that means guaranteed loss with a crappy effort

Not sure why people want Wideman scratched. All we need to do is use him more effectively. Not pair him with Engelland, not have him be the high point man on the PP, etc. He's still the 4th best D on this roster.

Mark Giordano is on that list.
Ergo, that prospect list had a blue chipper

And also, with a list of prospect defensemen, you should always be thinking 'give us one good player from that list'. Two good players and you knocked it out of the park.

(though I agree that it wasn't a real deep list, and most people knew that at the time)

That wasn't the list really though. That was where to put pro players when you're sharing your AHL team with the Hurricanes.

Juniors, college kids and Euros not on the list at all.

You have a point, but usually this happens once the Flames get to 1 game over .500

Here's hoping Colborne wants to show the coach that he doesn't like sitting out.
