It’s still an odd deal. Trying to make Kirk look fast?

Its been an odd off season, will be interesting to see if this team can generate the offense to stay competitive in the AL east.

They have pitching, but that won't be enough

I have a feeling they will win 93-98 games this year. Sure, the roster hasn't changed much. In previous years the Jays were hyped up and had a lot of pressure on them. Everyone is writing them off this year, which I think will help the Jays. Some teams are better playing as the underdogs.

Here’s hoping, that roster has definitely underperformed. Maybe they can quietly step up this year and meet their expectations but the ALEast is a gauntlet and looks to have gotten tougher over the offseason. Really looking forward to the further upgrades to Rogers center and how it impacts hitters.

Kirk would make Vogelbach look fast.
Unless he happened to discover salad over the off season.

I think the Yanks will be better, Os back down to earth again. Red Sox who knows and Tampa won't win 14 or whatever it was to start the season.

I think the Jays pitching takes a bit of a step back, and bats elevate things, so the win total is similar to last year.

Money not spent in offseason means money at the trade deadline if they are within WC range.

And neither has Bellinger

Both players (I believe) have compensatory picks attached to them too, and it seems like nobody is willing to dole out the contracts Boris is looking for.

I wonder if there is any chance of getting Chapman back on a 1 year pillow deal?

“Ben Wagner has finalized a deal with the Baltimore Orioles that will see him work radio and television broadcasts for the team.”

“The O’s say Wagner will appear on radio and select TV broadcasts throughout the year.”

https://torontosun.com/sports/baseba...g-with-orioles

Jays radio will now be done by by “Ben Shulman, son of regular play-by-play man Dan”

Ben Shulman is quite good. He’s been involved in Blue Jays Talk and Locked on Blue Jays. It still really sucks for Wagner though.

They had him call some games last year and he was fine, but I do prefer Wagner still.

If it means keeping one of the best in the business with the Jays, in Dan, all for it.

Buck I assume is returning, but this could be his final year.

Bellinger back to the Cubs for 3 years $80 million total

Nice to see Boras eat a little ##### to be honest

Chapman will also have to take a deal for way less than he thought. Didn't he turn down 4x100 from the Jays or something like that last year?

Don't think he turned down $400 million.

He probably did turn down being on a 4x100 relay team though. Especially as it was Manoah, Kirk and Jansen as the other 3 runners.
