Why would the care ? It’s actually in their best interest to lose and bring in an impact player sooner then later
They are planning their golf game and summer vacation
This is what fans around here don’t understand about “tanking” . It isn’t the players trying to lose . It’s players realizing the games don’t matter who are signed long term and not sacrificing or caring
It can become infectious which is a risk , but I would worry for the last 20 games . I’m sure there is a disappointment from trading players when as a team they fought all year for wins and were competitive
This is also why you need specific veterans to leads a rebuild . Ones that have won before and aren’t hungry to win per se , but hungry to play the right way and mentor .
Thin line between a veteran checking out when they realize the season is over and one who can continue to play with a high give a *darn* meter

Tanev got far and away the 2nd best return for dman that was traded at the deadline. Obviously Hanifin blew away the competition and probably got the best return of any player at the deadline, by leaps and bounds. Only the Oilers overpay compares the returns Conroy got for his pieces.

They were UFAs, so Conroy forced to trade them. But Andersson and Weegar different.

Yes but he has a NTC kicking in for the next 2 years. It’s better to ahead of the situation, instead of him wanting and having limited options in the last year, or the team making a massive mistake with a 8 year deal.

Just remember, embrace the suck. I trust Conny can have this organization bottom out and bounce back up in a hurry.

If we take out too much we might end up in a spotthat's really hard to recover from. We won't have anything left for the young players coming in if we get rid of too many players.

This is very true. If anything was awful this trade deadline, it was the market

We are SJ bad now.
Zary has been a nice surprise, but these "young guns" are either not ready, or not just not top 6 level talent

I would say the Sharks are indeed. I don't know if anyone around the league knows exactly what they are doing because they are going to be terrible for a long, long time. Hawks have Bedard but they still have a long way to go because they stripped things down too far and I'm not in love with their prospects considering how bad they have been.

Hertl got a better return
Tanev got a 2nd round pick and a C prospect
Hanifin got a 1st round pick thats hopefully good, remains to be seen, and maybe a 2nd round pick

Don't be too hard on them. We were playing better when we had our previous defense. It just takes a couple of losses to shake everybody's confidence which. Has pretty much happened.
