My guess is that most goalies exaggerate their heights. I met Cory Schneider in person. Listed at 6'3''. Zero chance he was much more than 6'' flat. He looked like a very small person for a professional athlete.
That being said. Height will not hold wolf back. He's more than mobile enough to make up for that. He's getting caught totally off guard. He's just not used to NHL speed and shooting angles. Give him time.

We're also used to seeing Markstrom.
There's smallish goalies around the league, we just don't see then every day.
If Wolf was coming into one if those teams, the change wouldn't look so jarring.

At this point I think you give him as many games as possible. There’s going to be some bad games but it’s all part of his progression. What he needs most is a chance to play and to build confidence. His sample size in the NHL is small and he needs time to adjust to the speed and shot strength of NHL players. Good news is that a rebuild/retool should give him plenty of opportunities. As good as Markstrom has been this season, he shouldn’t play much down the stretch. It’s time to usher in the new guard at that position.

Hasek in his first two seasons as a regular backup was sub .900. More recently, Demko was a pedestian .905. Markstrom's numbers were low his first few years too. Sometimes a goalie needs some time at this level.

Wolf looks about the same size as Saros who is listed at 5'11''. I would assume that smaller goaltenders have to compensate for the lack of vision and reach with better puck tracking and positioning/reflexes. Like the first goal against the Caps, I think Wolf could've pushed out of the net a lot more there to make himself bigger. Saros is extremely aggressive with that stuff.

Demko spent a few season as Markstrom's backup and ideally Wolf would spend a couple years as a backup. Ideally it would have started this season but it has to start next season as he needs more games.

It's good for a rookie to be a backup behind a good goalie - less pressure to get wins, a gradual increase to workload, time to decompress between starts, etc.

I hope he gets at least 5 more starts this year. I don't know if I'd read too much into the results behind what is a patchwork defence core. But I think there is some learning that can be done by getting more NHL action. In time I expect he will come out of the net using his stick to try and stop some of those in close tip shots. As opposed to a guy like Markstrom who can stay in the net more and just cover area. So the details like that are where some more game experience will help him I think.

I think Wolf will develop into a solid starter for the Flames eventually...as others have said, goalies need ample time to adjust to the NHL game and Wolf is still very young. His resume is stellar and he seems to enjoy proving critics wrong.
Speaking of smaller goalies playing well:
Russian goaltender Artemi Pleshkov (5'10" 161 lbs) set the world record for saves in a pro hockey game last weekend. He stopped 124 shots before surrendering the lone goal in a quintuple overtime 1-0 defeat in the VHL (no. 2 league in Russia). How much would that suck to make all those saves and still lose?
The NHL record is Joonas Korpisalo (6'3") with 85 saves in an overtime game during the 2020 bubble playoffs. Regular season is Ron Tugnutt (5'11") with 70.

Ovi has scored at will for 19 seasons for a reason.
Doesn't usually matter who's in net.
Getting scored on by #8 is practically a rite of passage for an NHL goalie.

Looking as though Dustin Wolf’s 23/24 season will end with:
AHL 35GP
NHL 15 GP
Which would have been about exactly what most fans were hoping for, prior to season start.

Didn't watch the game but on the NHL app he's showing as 3rd star.

He was decent. First one not great and zero chance on second. But solid in between.

Solid quality start for Wolf for a well earned 3rd star.
Would have wanted the first shot of game back (shades of Marky).
But settled in with some nice stops in tight. Very quiet in the net as usual. Confidence is building.
His stick handling and passing were very noticable tonite. He is demonstrating elite skills without Mike Smith theatrics.

Since the trade deadline:
Wolf - 255mins TOI - .930 SV%
Markstrom - 118mins TOI - .857 SV%
Vladar - 100 mins TOI - .827 SV%
Tiny sample size, but will be interesting to follow as the season plays out with Markstrom & Wolf splitting the final 12 games (I assume).

Wolf is so good. He might get beat on the odd high shot because of his size, but his athleticism and instincts will make up for it.
My guess is he is going to be a HDSV% machine in his career.

Why does every one keep mentioning "if he was 6'4.... "
Well if he was we wouldn't have gotten him in the 7th round. No one would have even gotten him 7th overall....
