At least the owner signed the dog over for euthanization. Hopefully he gets charged the $10k fine, too. GD pitbulls.

How do these idiots continue to let their dogs loose. Those injuries will likely never heal properly and she'll be scarred for life. All because the idiots couldn't control their pitbull.

Would the victim be able to sue the owners for damages, outside of the maximum $10K fine?

Sorry I haven't had a chance to post this until now. Vicious bull terrier attacked a little boy leaving him hospitalized a couple of days ago in Calgary. Article here.

Quote:
A four-year-old boy was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

“The young one did sustain some serious lacerations to the upper torso as a result of the dog bites,” Loria said.
(emphasis mine)

Poor kid.

Aaaaaand another one. You'll never guess the breed, either (unless you guessed pit bull).

Quote:
The five-year-old male pit bull was being walked on a leash by its female owner when it passed another woman on a residential sidewalk and, without warning, chomped on her leg.

...

The victim, a 56-year-old woman, required 16 stitches to her upper left thigh.
Seriously, who keeps buying pit bulls?

Bump.

Quote:
Calgary police have laid charges after two separate dog attacks on children over the weekend.

The first attack happened on Saturday, when police were called to reports that a pit bull had attacked a three-year-old at a home in Sunnyside.

In the second incident, police were called to a home in Midnapore on Sunday after a adult chow/shepherd-mix pinned down and bit a one-year-old child while the child was having a snack.

People who don't live in Ontario and I believe the city of Winnipeg.

Biggest question should be since dog fighting is illegal why keep breeding them, there a useless pet really.

No dog dared to attack my kids, I had a 22lb seal point siamese.

He did stuff like this for fun and didn't need a kid to get attacted first.

So what do people generaly think of pitties? I really want one find them to be good looking animals. I've owned an American Eskimo (super agrresive however due to size easy to handle).

Is pitties a new term or Pit Bull?

Sure, good looking till they chew your kids face off.

Sorry, but you mean good looking in a 'hey they wouldnt let me buy a hyena so I got this pitbull instead' kind of way, or 'this pit bull really goes with my white sunglasses and truck nuts' kind of way...or something else?

I have a rescue I got as a puppy. I'm not exactly sure what his mix is but his papers say German Sheppard/Pitbull.

He's the greatest dog in the world. Hardly makes any noise, is great with kids/babies, and is always calm, even in the face of other very aggressive dogs.

He looks like the mix, and is a big boy, but hes a suck.

EDIT: I will say, people I encounter at parks and such love him, until I mention his mix. Then they get all freaked out. Really annoying actually. Especially when it's generally their tiny dog jumping and biting at my dogs face while he just stands there staring at it.
