The Jays made the playoffs despite losing almost 7 wins above replacement from last season between Manoah and Guerrero.
What actually is Manoah doing right now? I’ve lost track. Like is he working a Subway on the Rogers Centre concourse or is he actually still a part of the team? So strange how he has just disappeared like the Toronto mob just came in one night and kidnapped him or something.

For later rounds, with the Jays not having a US TV following or measurable ratings, they are always going to get short end of the stick for times...but those times are not new for baseball or Toronto.
1993 also. I remember my school sent everyone home early (due to a fire) and I got to catch one of them.

Well, they proposed to play half their home games on the road and the league rejected it haha.

I like the roster. Small gripe would be to remove Espinal. I don’t think he’d be used under any circumstances give the others they have in the lineup. I think you can never have enough pitchers though, and would have shown some confidence to Pearson through a call up.

I don't have a problem with Espinal. But I am a bit surprised they didn't include one long reliever, whether that be Ryu or Pearson.

That's Kikuchi. It's a 3 game series so one of the 4 starters won't be starting.

That would be Kikuchi. Bassitt would start game 3 if necessary.

I just clued in that the games start at 1:30 my time?? Wth. I'm lucky I'm off for a few days so can still catch most of them, but that's ridiculous.

Say Bo suffers an in game injury, who plays shortstop?

In a 3 gamer, I think 11 pitchers should be enough, and I would have picked Francis over Richard's. But I am more analytic vs feelings type. Richard's got hit hard by better teams in September and is home run prone.

Enoch is a huge fan of the time. You should ask him why. We’re all still wondering ourselves.

I’d say Merrifield or Cavan. But I guess it’s six of one and half dozen of the other. I just like more pitchers so I’d have left off a position player of some sort.

I'm late to the time slot discussion...and understand why they would go with afternoon games to try to maximize the time slots...but even with that considered the time slots make no sense to me in terms of the 1 hour separation between some games.

3:08 ET
4:38 ET
7:08 ET
8:08 ET

So you still end up having pretty major overlap between the two games anyways due to only an hour difference in start times.

Wouldn't something like this make more sense:

3:08 ET - Rangers @ Rays
5:08 ET - Blue Jays @ Twins
7:08 ET - Marlins @ Phillies
9:08 ET - Arizona @ Milwaukee (MT/CT for these teams - so later start works)

With games regularly under 3 hours long this year then I think you're still finished by midnight ET and you have very little overlap between the games.

The only real difference there is moving the last game from 8 to 9 Eastern. And I doubt that would have a positive effect on total viewership.

They pick these time slots to maximize total viewership and in correlation , the amount they can charge for advertising

And they pick very scientifically I can guarantee you

No doubt there’s some logic. But why are they the only league to do this type of slots? To me it’s still silly. Again, from a fan perspective they get shafted.
