I don't disagree with the general sentiments of Air vs. 13" Pro, but I think more emphasis can be put on the difference in battery life. Both are good, but my Air is seeing 13-15 hours on a charge with Mavericks, the Pro will see 8-10. If portability is more important than screen clarity, the Air is a great choice... But it's certainly a tougher decision with these new Pros than when I bought in the summer.

Oh, for sure. There is a certain segment that needs every ounce of juice they can get their hands on. For me, the measuring stick was being able to take the thing to work, get a full 9 hour day with it open on my desk, without having to bundle up my charging cable and hunt for an outlet. The pro will finally do that for me.

I also do a lot of photo editing, and the extra speed, and retina were another factor in the decision.

The iPad Air is great. It really is something you have to pick up to understand. Endgadget described it as "having a screen to the internet in your hand" and I think that's accurate. It makes my iPad 3 feel like a beast.

I walked past the apple line at Chinook (yes there was a line!), straight into Target (with no line) and picked one up. 20 bucks cheaper then apple as well.

There was a line? Wow, I literally walked in at 8:30AM into Best Buy right to the counter and was out by 8:38AM.

Maybe people don't realize, or maybe they just like wasting their time. Who knows.

FS and BB are running a trade in program. My Gen 3 Ipad no 3G 16GB is worth $230 for trade in. Will I be able to get more than $230 selling it on Kijiji?

I'd say so. The iPad 2 is selling new for $370 right now. I'd even say post it in our Buy & Sell and see.

Really wish someone in Canada would step up like T mobile in the states.

Free 200MB/month iPad data plans, no strings attached.

I got $190 for mine about 3 weeks ago, so I'm sure you could get around that.

Just a little tip for everyone. I get a discount at the Apple Store under our company account. I know we have it, because I set it up. But if you work for a big company, ask if your company is set up for a corporate account. Usually all they ask for is a business card. It isn't huge, but it is still something. It is usually 5-7% iMac, Macbooks and accessories and 2% on tablets/phones. I have one friend that didn't even realize his company was registered, and he got 70 bucks off a MacBook. Just make sure you ask for the business services dude when you were there.

Lol, thanks. Was just there 5 minutes ago, line still at Apple Store, walk into target and pick up a 32gb for $599 less the 5% target red card discount. So $570 + tax. The guy at Target says they have sold only 4 of them in the last 2 days....lol.

Looking at Target's flyer- they are also giving a $30 gift card when you buy the iPad. So a 16 GB is only $445 after discounts; plus GST of course.

Tempting...........

Damn, I never got my gift card.

Looks like I ill be going back with my receipt.

$540 for a 32gb now.

Edit: went back, and you have to put up a bit of a fight for the gift card. It was only supposed to be for the iPad 4. But the way the add is worded, an Air qualifies.

After using my Ipad Air all weekend I can honestly say I love it. Upgraded from the Ipad 2. The biggest thing to me was not the weight difference, but actually how the new form of the Ipad sits in your hand. I found it much easier to use for long periods, then the rounded back of the Ipad 2. The speed difference and Retina display are the icing on top.

Also used it all day, and went from 100% to about 45% with a full day of couch time use. Great tablet and not much I can think of that is negative. If I had to give it a rating it would be a 9 out of 10.

I agree, it is an upgrade in every way. I just figured out another huge upgrade for owners of iPad 1-3, the lightning charger. The iPad 3 used to take 3-4 hours to charge up, now it takes half the time.

Also after using the Air all weekend, I picked up my iPad 3, and ya it felt very heavy. Still is quite snappy but just feels bulky in shape and weight.
