Well. That's it.
Kind of a boring draft.

I was really hoping that we could have somehow traded up for Kostin

Started to wonder why Tolvanen fell so much. Apparently Tolvanen has been rejected by Boston College apparently due to a problem with high school credits. I guess meaning that he's been slacking off in school or something.
I guess teams took it as a warning sign that he might lack commitment?

Thought Sportsnet did a better job covering the draft this year. Have all day for Sam Cosentino.

Hoping the Flames can get a 2nd round pick somehow and draft Kole Lind.

Well I dunno about all the scouting reports but THN (who somehow had him 11th) called him a "defensive liability", "slight and a little soft". At 5'10, 170 he's quite small. One dimensional scoring winger with size issues, defense issues, softness issues. I can see why he fell. Centres and defensemen are usually prioritized by NHL teams because they are more valuable. Only the best wingers go high. Tippett, Suzuki, Chytil, Yamamoto and Vesalainen the only wingers to go ahead of him.

Hoping Sasha Chemlevski is around for the Flames tomorrow. That's about it . Other than that, they have plenty of time in the morning to swing some trades. Or nap, have some lunch, stare at a wall, who knows! The option s are endless for the Flames tomorrow.

Leafs fans are already calling Liljegren the best player outside of the NHL. Man I hate those fans

To be fair, getting him at 17 is a coup for them. Actually I think all the Canadian teams did well except Ottawa.

I want him or Safin. I doubt we will be drafting in the 2nd though.

Yeah, but still he was mostly projected to go in the top 12 or so, so quite a drop.
I think your point underlines the importance of commitment. Small, soft, top 6 or bust winger can't really have any question marks around his character if he wants to be a high draft pick. Even with the great potential I'm glad we went with a safer pick.
