Well done and fairly accurate article on the Flames heading into draft day. With the picks we currently have their mock draft has us taking #6-Monahan, #22-Kerby Rychel, and #28-Josh Morrissey. I'd be pretty happy with that, but wish that Rychel was a right winger.
|
Getting Morrissey at 28 seems like a pipe dream but who knows in this draft as any players past the top 8 or so seems to be all over the map.

#67 is one of the guys who I was high on early in the year, but has really fallen hard in the second half.
Ryan Kujawinski of Kingston.

I'm hoping we get a couple of good surprises with our 22nd and 28th picks. I hope we don't trade them and right after the draft, regret doing so because of the quality of players that were still available.

Absolutely. Guide comes as two different PDF's (one for tablets, one if you choose to print a hard copy later). Sign up and away you go.

In other news, our latest 'Scout Series is out!
BCHL/WHL scout Dan Chan takes a stab at his Scout Series article:
Quote:
He doesn’t stand out when he hits the ice but does bring is a reliable and versatile defenseman with a good projectable frame, and he plays his game quietly and mistake-free. Smith is a mobile blueliner with strong balance who plays with poise and confidence. He is able to collect the puck quickly and make efficient plays under pressure.

Latest comes from Ryan English out of the QMJHL:
Quote:
Laurent Dauphin of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens always caught eyes playing in Halifax and had me looking at my roster to be sure this guy was really a rookie ’95. Getting home after my first viewing in October, I remember looking into his history – wow, a first round QMJHL draft pick coming off a Telus Cup where he won MVP and top scorer. Mental note to self – next time Chicoutimi is in town, focus even more on Dauphin.

Imagine snagging Ryan Pulock in the 1st round and his defense partner Roy in the 3rd? We'd have some deadly weapons on the powerplay...

Did anyone else see the rumour that the Flames were in on Dauphin big time? I can't remember where I saw it. Either way, Dauphin seems like he'd be an excellent 2nd round draftee if Feaster can swing a deal for a 2nd.

Just wondering what happened to Slepyshev? He seems to have disappeared from all of the rankings.
