For what it's worth, I appreciate your play-by-play work. We were spoiled in this market by having Peter Maher all those years. Those are tough shoes to fill, but fortunately, the only shoes you have to fill are your own. And you do that quite nicely. When I'm driving and can't watch the game, I listen to the broadcast and always feel that I can picture the action well.

By the way, I think it would be very interesting if Meaghan Mikkelson joined you and Steinberg on the round table from time to time. Is there any chance of that?

Anyone who doesn't like you, or anyone else on the broadcast team can go pound sand.

You're not going down to their place of employment and knocking the broom out of their hand.

Happy Holidays! I will admit that your style isn't my cup of tea and I say that respectfully. I certainly couldn't do what you do and there's no way you can please everyone. I moved away from Calgary 15+Y ago (mainly listen to you on TuneIn Radio) so my listening isn't as frequent as it was during the Maher era. In addition, I'm also probably not as passionate a fan as I used to be as I get older and busier with other things.

I respect your willingness to venture into this thread and I really don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about PBP/Colour personalities. I also feel bad for folks in your role as I suspect the way the role has evolved/devolved with no travel etc probably wasn't what most of you signed up for/dreamed of. Cheers and good luck!

Let this (again) be a reminder to everyone including me. People we talk about read this forum. Players, media, their families. We know this, but we forget. Criticism is fine. Personal stuff, names, over the top statements are poor form.

Hmm. I like Meaghan. Her voice is totally fine, and her insight is better than many others that have had that seat in other cities. She's just getting started.

Some people will like what you like, some people won't like what you like.

Radio announcers are no different than bands. If you're a metalhead and you end up at a party with Bob Marley playing in the background it doesn't mean Bob Marley is a bad musician or bad at his job, it just means you don't personally Reggae or Bob Marley.

Personally, I never liked Peter Mahers sound. He always sounded like he had nasal congestion to me. I thought "Yeah Baby! Yeah Baby" was super cringey. But, I also recognized that was a me problem, as the guy was revered by fans, and was a HOF announcer.

Sometimes you show up at the party, and you just gotta listen to some Reggae without making a big stink out of it by enabling your main character mode and making it all about you.

Peter Loubardias annoyed the hell out of me for almost a year...and then I got to like it and now I miss his calls. He's a stand-up guy and good at what he does.

Sometimes it takes time for people to find their feet and for people to get used to them when they've been used to something else for so long.

Screw that! Let Staples piss in the sink like an animal! We can all berate him for it!

The reason he is like this is because he did absolutely nothing of note with his radio career. He is angry, bitter and is lashing out because he couldn't hack it. The end.

.....Do people actively listen to the games on the radio? I can honestly say I haven't even heard a second of radio PBP this season.

Funny, I loved Peter Maher, and still miss the guy, but the "Yeah Baby" thing always felt a bit forced to me as well.

Yeah its crazy, especially in the winter with the heat blasted and it already making your eyes dry up I couldn't imagine listening to a radio broadcast driving around.

It has nothing to do with the people who call the game either, would just be boring.

Don't you listen to the radio with your ears?

During the weekday games, I leave work and listen to at least a period on the radio, as I typically leave work between 7 and 8 pm amd my commute is about 30 mins.

I also no longer drop everything for 3 hours to watch a game. If there's things to do, I'll just tune in on a nearby radio or on the app and carry on with my life.
