It grinds my gears that I saw that thread and thought I would save the entertainment for later but when I clicked on the link it had already been deleted.

It's funny because in that very thread I said someone will probably get banned over this thread, and I can't remember who posted don't worry, he'll come back as puckluck3!

That sucks man. It was an excellent indicator of who all was secretly just a huge racist. You had a couple people saying "race doesn't matter," but there was a surprising amount of straight up hate-on for minorities.
Sorry you missed that gem.

So give us a little summary because I'm curious, was it just your standard "lol Asians can't automobile lol"? Because even if it's Puckluck I can't believe he thought that thread would go well.

Pretty much. A lot of Asian and general minority flavour going on. Some hate-on for lady drivers. Nothing TOO crazy, but pretty much every post was "Yeah wow I can tell what race they are before I see them!"
The whole first post was puckluck just ranting hard about Asian drivers, which was super surprising considering how often he claims he's a victim of racism. I would've thought he'd have known better.
It was basically your standard Canadian racism. Not insanely mean spirited, but extremely offensive and stupid.

Is it just a Calgary thing?
|
#YYC as a hashtag originated on Twitter as it served a decent stand in for Calgary within the 140 character limit. Basically when Twitter was exploding in popularity locally it became a short/easy way to connect with local folks online.
For other airport codes I think it's much the same, easier to type YVR then Vancouver on your phone, and if you're flying into the airport it's entirly accurate to say something like "#YYC->#YVR this afternoon!"
Plus some of us just think it looks/sounds cool.

I wasn't aware there was a standard Canadian racism. What sets Canadian racism apart from British, Australian, Chinese, or American racism which I had previously all just clumped together under the blanket "racism?"

Indispensable with dual or triple monitors, that's for sure.

Countering window decals with other window decals seems odd to me.

You should get a window decal to exhibit your disdain.
