Except that storms have NOT been becoming more frequent or more powerful.
I've been following this for decades. There's an inverse correlation between average temperature and the prevalence of hurricanes and tropical storms. A 2023 study published in Nature calls this correlation ‘robust’:
The mechanism behind this change is quite well understood.
EDIT: Storm damage has been increasing, despite the decreasing number of storms, due principally to the skyrocketing number of idiots who build McMansions in hurricane country and expect their insurance to bail them out. My sympathy for such people is sharply limited.
As I said, ignorance is bliss and a single article in the face of a growing volume of research that suggest otherwise isn't going to change that. This thread also isn't going to solve the slow crawl to disaster, so if you feel better with that narrative, god speed.
Hanifin getting 8x8 in any city is going to make him immune to the real world consequences regular folks will have to deal with so it's not even going to be on his radar.

Sorry, it's a documented fact that the frequency of tropical storms has been decreasing. The ignorance on this particular point is all yours.
‘Narrative’ my ass.

lol NASA is the 'media', that explains the whole moon landing psyop
NASA isn't a primary source of climate data. The other links Lanny offered were all to media outlets that have been heavily invested in climate alarmism for decades.
These same media outlets predicted that there would be no sea ice in the Arctic by now, and that polar bears would be extinct due to loss of habitat. I could go on at great length – but suffice it to say that none of their past predictions have been correct.
So far in this argument, I'm the only one to have provided a link to a peer-reviewed source.

Crazy talk from right-wing media.
The most named storms in recorded history was in 2020 (30), so many they had to roll the alphabet. and even if the frequency becomes less they are bigger, stronger and last longer...period!
Three major insurance companies have completely pulled out of Florida because of storm claims and it may not stop down south, Hurricane Fiona cost Nova Scotia $800 million and just 2 weeks ago a storm that originated in the Caribbean followed the warmed Atlantic waters up the eastern coast before slamming into an Alberta clipper and it dumped 5 feet of snow in Nova Scotia.
