The Oilers in 2022.

Feeling pretty salty with the Canucks right now...basically dragged out the unpleasantness of us having to pull for them as long as possible this series while ultimately still letting us down in the end. They can go pound sand for subjecting us to another week or 2 of this tripe.
Only positive is the Grease had a much harder time beating Van than I thought they would going against a 3rd string goalie. Glad they finally have a real playoff opponent now, no more easy street.

When you talk about Dallas or the Rangers this playoff year, you hear “wow! They’re good!”
In this case, it’s “wow! Can’t believe how bad LA and Vancouver are”

Well…ya?
Rangers and Dallas are good teams. The Oilers squeaked out a win vs a team without it’s leading scorer on its 3rd string goalie.

Honestly this was one of the worst 7 game series ever.
It's like watching a 50 year old Larry Holmes vs 50 year old George Foreman going 12 rounds.

That is irrelevant to the actual teams iced in the playoffs...Vegas for example was far superior to either. Vancouver winning a bunch of games in October-December is pretty irrelevant.

That was truly a battle of the no goods. Looking forward to seeing Edmonton getting bounced and receiving our 3rd rounder now

I can't believe the Canucks didn't come out strong after that abysmal game 6. Played almost all of game 7 looking like they assumed it was already over.

Lowered expectations.....
Canucks gave up big time futures and blew the series. Best player a no show

Thanks for all those assets for a well renowned non playoff performer! lol
Kuzmenko would have been better in the playoffs than Lindholm.

I mean, he had 10 points in 13 games. That's not nothing.
He and Zadarov were great pickups for them and probably the only reason they got to the second round.

Wasn't anywhere when they needed him. 10 points seems good at first glance but a lot of it were secondary assists.
They would have gotten by Nashville without Lindholm.
But holy that trade..... It's going to make the Neely trade look bad in the future.

To be fair, he probably would have helped far more on the PP, which might have won them the Edmonton series.
Canucks looked scared to shoot the puck.
Cycle down to point, take harmless point shot, rinse repeat.
It was a struggle for them and really bad coaching.

He literally would not have been in the game to affect the power play. Tocchet did not want to use him. He would default to guys like Karlsson and Podkolzin over even giving Kuzmenko a sniff. It's why the trade happened.

Correct. I have no idea what the power play plan was in the play-offs.

Tocchet's playoffs are a really bad look for him. What spooked him? It was baffling.

The trade is still a win for the FLames we got picks and not stuck with long-term deals with mediocre players, but those 2 really did drag the Canucks to Game 7 while their own home grown stars decided to retire.
