I've heard nothing of vandalism on decked out oiler vehicles in calgary through these playoffs.

Of course they would initiate that behavior in response to a loss. To make Pinder the victim is just poor form. Who does that to Pinder?! He's usually pretty complimentary of the stink on BB.

Send these troglodytes back to their siberian kyit-hole

The thing I’ve noticed about Oiler fans is it usually takes a whole family to come up with a full set of teeth. Sometimes they even have to borrow from cousins, but they’re probably future in-laws anyways so that’s all good.

Edmonton smells of sour cabbage, burned petroleum byproducts and regret.

Oilers fans. They've got a home that's mobile, and 14 cars that aren't.

What separates Oiler fans from the rest is just how consistent they are in groupthink. They all say the stupidest things, collectively.

Today I was regaled with oiler tales, on 3 separate occasions. Each one had some variety of oilers would win the next 2 games, and since both are must win games, it was too bad that game 7 was in Vancouver.

I said, to be fair, Vancouver did finish in first place and that gets game 7 at home.

Each of them gave me this spin: “If you consider how good the Oilers were over the last half of the season, the Oilers were the better team and therefore should have home ice advantage.”

I observed that this would not be 82 games or the regular season.

Each said “that doesn’t matter, the oilers are the better team!”

I wondered if I was being wound up, but there is no way these people know each other.

Does it not ever dawn on these single cell brains that they finished behind the Canucks, and they are losing this series?

It’s the kind of thing someone would say when they’re trying to cope with the fact that they know deep down that their team sucks, is going to lose the series and it has hit its peak.

I wrote a couple of poems in different styles during the Stars/Avs game:

There's a team with fans so ridiculous,
who's brains are no more than an apiculus.
A good one you can't be,
and I think I smell pee
on the banners they raise superfluous.

and

fans of edmonton
even the mosquito spurns
no good to be found

I bet they have the most casual fans.

Casual is the new summer look. Sliders, socks, shorts, oilers shirt. Still with mustard stains and urine smell.

I went to a Battle of Alberta game at the Dome in 2005 and wound up going with three Oiler fans. We drove up from Lethbridge and stopped at McD's once we hit Calgary. My friend, who was wearing a white Oilers jersey too small for him, managed to spill ketchup on it. We parked on Stampede grounds and he got chirped by several fans for that ketchup stain. The first to chirp him saw it from 100 feet away! He took it in stride but I loved every second of it.... Flames won 3-0.

So thong sandals with socks, lulu lemon cycling shorts, borrowed Canucks jersey from one of the many colour iterations, backwards Georgia strait hat, and cheap plastic sunglasses that were free with their bud light lime 4 pack?

Spector trying to pump the Oilers' tires ahead of game 6. Their vast experience will put them over the top because they've been here before, and because Leon is an inspiration!

Hopefully a Canucklehedz victory tonight. Or Game 7. Sooner or later…

With the angst, I think the pissexit gets underway. Mavi and his advisors assume full control of hockey operations…even more than now. The president and coach, and I’m assuming a number of unnamed lackeys, are already in place. The rest will follow including the GM. CEO on the business side gets jail time.

Mavi and minions determine that the team is not deep enough and start to jettison players. Pissy is the biggest issue right now. They will not let Holland determine pissy’s future or trade him. I’m thinking Mavi’s dad or maybe a brother will be the new GM. Or Gretzky or his brother. Tough call; 80s alumni or personal friend for GM.

If you’ve been determined to not support Mavi, or are weak, or have been given the Mavi stink eye, you are done. The tenderness, skinner, Ceci, all ufas, Perry, maybe even Kane, all gone.

I think that’s how they keep Mavi. Give him whatever he wants.

It’s going to be a summer of love! As in, love Mavi or you are gone.

Let the pissexit begin!

Hmmm...I posted that exact quote from HF in the series thread, then an hour later you post it in the E=NG thread. Quite the coincidence that we both chose the same random post out of 900+ from the HF post game thread.

Ha. That was written before Thursday's game
Apparently this vast experience meant little

In today’s weighty tome specky tells us that experience now doesn’t matter! I’m not even linking to the drivel but:

“Edmonton completed an identical comeback two springs ago, in Round 1 versus Los Angeles. Though such an experience is nearly meaningless…”

The rest is just the usual tripe about how great the oilers are (“one win on a Saturday night at Rogers Place should not require divine intervention for a team that won the second most home games in its conference (28).”)

And the small issue of skinner starting (what more could Jean Luc do) and Henrique going in for Crapweasel Perry. Perry’s possible last game as a healthy scratch? *chef’s kiss*

Yup, they certainly have, losing in game 6.
