It pays to be McDavid's buddy. That was his decision no doubt.

Whatever adjustment the Canucks made to their PK worked perfectly last night. I agree, I don't think they can hold off the McPP for much longer if there's a parade to the box. But at the same time, the Oilers didn't seem to make their own adjustments to counter the way Van was defending, and I'm not sure if they're able to. It's possible that the Canucks have figured them out. 0-5 is almost inconceivable against that PP.

One of the posters on HF has this takeaway. It's like people live in entirely different realities.

Well that sucks but Espn for the rest of this series for me the Canuck bias by Sportsnet is sickening
How anyone can watch the coverage of the games and come away with biased for the Canucks is beyond me.

I used to think Miller was a bad teammate and the Canucks should trade him. A lot of Canucks fans also wanted to trade him.
When they re signed him, I laughed at them and thought they were stupid for it.
I was wrong.

I think Miller probably needed to learn to channel his emotions a little better. The Canucks chose him over Horvat and after the finish last season it looked like a great choice. Horvat had a great year this year though (which is why you shouldn't judge a trade too soon), but there appears to be a reason why they went with Miller.

To Oilers fans, anything but non-stop McDavid worship and coverage means that you are biased against Edmonton. It needs to be 24/7, otherwise you aren't giving them the respect they think they deserve. Talk about the other team for 5 minutes? Biased!

Rick Tocchet has been huge in turning Miller around.

Go into the post game threads on Reddit. Where fans of other teams who don’t normally watch can comment.

SO MANY were aghast at how it felt like a local Edmonton Broadcast.

the color guy (and no I'm not calling him out as being a particularly bad example) is an Oilers alumni for crying out loud

Ref season and Playoffs combined, the Canucks are now 7-1-1 against the Oilers this season, with the one regulation loss being tied in the final minute.

Honestly the TNT broadcast sounded like that too. Every controversial replay they said was obviously in the Oilers favor.

Yeah, but according to Stauffer the Oilers would beat the Canucks 8 out of 9 games. His opinion means more than what has actually happened.

In this series, the playoffs is the ref season.

The Canucks are missing their best player, and regular season MVP. This series would already be over if Demko was playing.

I wasn't able to watch the game but on the Fan960 this morning, they mentioned that McDavid really sold it on the penalty he drew so I'm guessing it must have pretty egregious. Anyone have a clip of it?
