A couple of JW's showed up at my door this afternoon. It was one of the rare times in my life where I can get quite rude and insulting and feel good about.

My little girl Isabelle continues to amaze me with how much she loves music, good music.
I had Neil Young on the Tv in the background, "Old man". She quickly swoops in, and plops down to watch, swaying along. Not long she started to strum along like she had a guitar in hand.
I then put on Harvest moon and had a dance with gal. It's a good day.

Watching my kids hard work paying off makes for a happy dad.
It's my sons draft year for the CHL he had a slow start to his rookie U18AAA season but an excellent second half and was rewarded last night with an invite to the draft combine for the top 120 players for the draft all while keeping his marks in school over 95%
It blows my mind his dedication to getting it all done. I'm not sure that at his age i could have done the same. He knows what he wants and is busting his ass to get there.

I just got Hans Zimmer Live tickets for the October show in Vancouver. Bucket list item going to be checked off! He's my favourite composer of all time.

If you would have told me a couple years ago that going to a Hans Zimmer concert would be cool, I would have laughed. Then I watched one of his concerts on Netflix and it was frickin’ amazing. I’m jealous.

I have an acquaintance whose son is expected to be a first round draft pick in the NHL this year.
He glows every time we talk about it.

Good for you!
I remember as a kid, playing soccer which wasnt nearly as big in North America at the time, but I had skill and talent and what I didnt have was that drive.
As I got more and more injured I just got more and more disassociated, so having that drive is really special.
"Hard work beats talent every time talent decides not to work hard."
If you've got both? So much the better.

Because he probably invested >$100k in it at least.
Got three former teammates of my kid pegged to go first round. Western Canada is really starting to pump out the talent, finally.

When my son poops at daycare, it’s just great news all around. Firstly, it’s not likely I’ll have to change a stank ass diaper tonight. Secondly it makes me feel better about the outrageous cost of daycare. This isn’t dumping (heh) on the wonderful people working there, but damn is it expensive.

Sally's bar in High River has Karaoke every Friday night. Some of the people who get up to sing are amazing. This guy does a really good version of a Nathaniel Radcliffe song. "SOB"

Yeah lots of daycares have an app for updates. Honestly it’s a little much at times but for other things it’s super cool. The app is pretty similar to Facebook where you only get posts from the daycare. They let us know when they change his diaper, feed him (food and or bottle), they post their breakfast and lunches, as well as how long and when they nap. The best part is they’ll post 1-2 photos of him a day.
I really like seeing the photos of him but everything else I could do without, seems like a lot of work for minimal benefit.
