I always love seeing PuppetGuys creations, this one my friend. You just set the bar for this season.

I have a terrible feeling about this one. I think it's all kinds of bull#### that we open up in their barn again - if there is one game that home ice is huge it's the home opener.
Last year I was brimming with confidence and we got smoked. I hope my gut feeling is off again this year.

Me neither, not because I don't think we are the better team, we are but because the refs are going to give them the calls because it is their home opener and when you combine that with the fact if you cut a small fart in McDavid's presence that is a penalty I don't see a good result. I hope and pray I am wrong, GFG!

If that’s the case, there are 81 more games to feel good about after this one.

I just want the Flames to finish the game with some dignity. I don't want to get blown out and start questioning Smith and the D to start the season. We usually lose the opener, I'm just hoping it's a loss we can build off. A win would be a pleasant surprise

I had this game marked as a loss as soon as the schedule was released in the summer, and I feel no different now. This feels pretty much like a guaranteed loss. I hope they are able to regroup quickly and not repeat the start of last season. The Flames are notoriously poor to start the season, and the Oilers always seem to have the jump. Never mind that we had no answer for them last year.

I actually think Smith starts the season strong and game 1 of the season is the best time to play Oilers in their rink.

I'm very happy the off season is over and the time has come for real hockey. Woohooo!!!
But a couple things:
- Please Flames don't get blown out. I'm tired of hearing Oiler fans brag about the series sweep last season, even after getting beaten up 10 years in a row. It will be unbearable and infuriating if this happens.
- Please God Jesus don't let in a goal in the first minute, or on the first ####ing shot.

I'm sure the Flames want nothing more than to stick it to the Oilers right off the hop!
Here's hoping Smith keeps the team in it early and then our offense takes over.

Well the Flames need to win by 10 goals to erase last years BOA failues, so anything less than that will be unacceptable

27% winning percentage in season openers over 44 seasons... that's gotta be by far the worst in the league.
Sucks that it has to be a divisional rival to gift points to.

Yikes just looked it up.
They've lost the last 7 season openers, and have only one won of the last 14

I'm looking forward to the start of the season but I'm wishing it wasn't against the Oilers. Not that I think they are a better team but if we let in an early one we tend to fold. I just don't like the idea of getting the Oilers off to a positive start to the season by giving them a win.

We're due against the Ducks too but here we are.
This is the Flames we're talking about.
