A hard-earned 12 point lead should be safe with two minutes left.
Time should not have more or less value depending on the stage of the game.

This is a rarity. Coming back from 2-TDs down is not that common in the last few minutes so when it does happen it is exciting and worth talking about. I think it adds to the excitement and ensures that the avergae fan has a reason to stay in their seats until game is over unlike the NFL when they can shake hands with 30 seconds on the clock and walk off the field.

I don't see a problem with the rules.
You could just as easily complain that the clock runs at other times even though a player went out of bounds.
I'm also not sure why the amount of time left in the game determines if a team deserved a win. You could be up 56-0 after the 1st qtr and then play the worst football ever and lose. Why pick the arbitrary 2 mins left? Why not 5? 15? 30? Otherwise why not just make the games 58 minutes long and stop playing.

And if they didn't allow Winnipeg to recover the onside kick it would of been safe...can't blame the clock on that one.

ill come off as biased of course but last nights game was amazing. i had to sit thru BC clawing back from a 2 score 4th deficit and it was nice to see the bombers get one back last night. its not like montreal was the far better team all night, it was very back and forth and winnipeg didnt quit. montreal did. winnipeg deserved the win.

My point is the rest of the game is devalued when time is treated differently at the end.
Winnipeg ran 16 plays with 1:40 left (6.25 seconds per play). Only went out of bounds once. No times outs used.
I picked the Bombers to win, but at some point enough is enough.

Do they add extra time at the end of NHL games to allow teams to make a comeback?

they dont in the CFL either. college ball and the cfl both treat the time clock differently after the 2 and 3 minute warning. it creates for a more exciting finish. you know, being in the entertainment business and all

Don't they? You can't run 16 plays in 1:40 at any other point of the game.
It's a life preserver thrown to a drowning team.
Anyway, I think I've said enough. I don't deny the excitement factor, but I guess I'm bothered by the fairness of it, and the total lack of any clock management.

one f the things I don't care for in the NFL is how you can run so much clock at the end of the game, this is the extreme but it does make it interesting. you have to play the whole game

I think Winnipeg played the clock to perfection in the last 2 minutes. Not many teams will pull that off, running successive plays with no huddle and snapping the ball immediately once the clock runs. It does generate interest in watching if you know it could happen.
The Montreal defence also played like the game was over in the first TD drive, giving Winnipeg consistent plays under the middle which allowed Winnipeg the luxury of consecutive first downs and to scrimmage in between the hash marks.

Logan is accurate, hes getting fined for saying that though.
Quote:
Logan said he felt his team was ripped off.
“We went with everything we had, man, all the way till the end of the game,” the 36-year-old veteran said.
“And I don’t like calling people out and stuff like that, but these refs, man, they gotta get better with this man. These refs is really blowing these games man.”
Logan was especially upset about linebacker Chris Ackie being called for roughing the passer on the Bombers’ winning drive.
“That wasn’t an illegal hit,” Logan claimed. “Man, that was a regular hit of a shoulder pad to shoulder pad. It just looked violent ’cause (Ackie) didn’t wrap. He just hit (Nichols) hard. But it’s a part of football. It wasn’t like he went across his face or nothing like that. It don’t make no sense, man.
“We’re playing against 15 people. We’re playing against the other team and the refs, and that ain’t fair man. I’m sorry, that ain’t fair.”

They don't add extra time, which is what he was saying.
Darn exciting game. That out-of-bounds play was awesome with the receiver batting the ball back in to keep it alive (3:50 of the highlight package).

You seem like an NFL apologist. That's what makes it the Crazy Football League. I only watched Q4 last night but I timed it perfectly. What a finish. The NFL has the best players but our rules are better. I'd love to see NFL players playing our rules on our field.

CFL refs strike again tonight - They just blew a play dead ruling an incomplete pass that was definitely a lateral and took a TD off the board for BC.
Edit: The league must be getting tired of all the bad officiating and upheld the call on the field, but that was a not a forward pass and it should be BC ball.
