A lot of mock drafts have Suzuki going at 11 to LA. I don't think he'll fall to us, which is too bad.
Vesalainen is an intriguing boom or bust prospect. Lias Andersson also looks promising and might be there.

I want to draft Vesalainen. I've never heard of Vesalainen before but Loubou took him in the mock draft yesterday so I'll be mad if we don't draft Vesalaienen.

I haven't been this "unprepared" for a draft since probably 2009 or so. Going to be interesting watching this without any info on those prospects.

Players at the back end of a ledge always seem to fall right into our laps. We're further back this year, but I wonder if someone considered Top 10-12 falls to us. Maybe something crazy like an Owen Tippett or a Pettersson.

Andersson, Vesalainen, or Hague for me.
I'd be okay with Kostin as well but I'm pretty sure the Flames won't take him.

Have a feeling we're not going to pick at 16. Trading for a player or dropping down.

What is the appeal with Vesalainen? From what I have read, he that he was great as a junior but struggled like crazy at the next level. This pick would worry me as there a lot of players that fall into this category.
What am I missing?

Size, skill, can skate well enough. Was the best player at the U18's in April.
Quote:
A big and strong winger who has the ability to impact the game in many ways…plays a versatile, high-tempo offensive game…battles for pucks and space…a beast along the wall and difficult to move in front of the net…mixes a heavy game with very soft, skilled hands…

He bounced around from Sweden to Finland, so he never got any footing and didn't do much offensively at the WJC but lit it up at the under-18 tourney. This shows a glimmer of his ability to score. He has all the tools, he's big and can skate.

I've remained blissfully ignorant of all the prospects this year. As a result, when the Flames pick their player I will dive headfirst into the outrage/joy river on the forum and ride the current.

I really like his puck protection skills. He's hard to knock off the puck.

I'm surprised no one seems to want Foote ... I'd be excited if the Flames grabbed him at 16

I'm a fan. Big 6'4 RHD. Tough, nasty and a powerful shot. Good bloodlines. Supposedly a better skater than his Dad
