The north Bow path is closed from 9th to 10th St SW.

GOT MY BIKE BACK!!
The thief stripped it of accessories and posted it on kijiji for $500 this morning. I arranged to meet him at the end of the work day, but in my place he found a couple of police officers. They checked the serial and confirmed that it was stolen. He's getting charged with breaking and entering, and I've got my bike back.
Also, we figured out how he got into the building. New condo security system had a default admin password that the installer didn't change. If you live in a condo with a keypad entry system, get the board to double check the admin passwords — apparently it's quite common, and you can find the defaults with thirty seconds of googling: http://globalnews.ca/news/3387804/th...ult-passcodes/
We're going to get some of these installed in the parkade (until then, the bikes are staying upstairs):

^ this good news - another genius thief listing his stuff for sale on kijiji. hopefully the cops visited his house and found other bikes. This year I took picutres of all of our bikes and noted the serial numbers.
in frustrating bike news, over the weekend I took a spin at WBC, as my buddy was loading up our bikes he noticed my rear shock was in a compressed state, so when I got home I tried pumping it up, no change, so I let the air out of it, no change. took my bike back to cyclepath south and they tell me they have to send the shock back to rock shox for them to look at it - looks like I have no mtn bike for the enxt three weeks or more. I am somewhat frustrated with the process as the original shock on the bike was replaced under warranty in March - the new shock likely only had about 120 kms on it, and it is not like I am hitting big drops.

North Bow path was closed today on the west side of the zoo by St. George's Drive. A couple of PCL barricades up indicating "closed for construction". However yesterday evening I saw some Strava rides that did take the path around the zoo there. So who freaking knows?

Not sure if this was mentioned before but the pathway on the northside of the Bow River was closed between the Peace Bridge and the 10th St Bridge today.

Correct, that is for warranty work on the concrete done on that section of the pathway. Apparently they tried some new stuff when they did it and the work was covered for the damage/wear that it underwent.

I don't imagine there are any workers there after 6 or so, probably some people just ignoring the barricades.

Forgot to mention, yesterday going north on 10th st just past 20th ave in the playground zone the roads dept decided it would be a great idea for playground safety to put one of those mobile speed display boards up. You are going so and so speed. The problem is it's the trailer design, and they just parked the ####ing thing blocking the entire bike lane, so you have to veer into traffic to get around it! The incompetence of the roads dept cannot be understated.

Someone should move it to block the traffic lane.

Am I the only one bothered by the huge grammatical error on the speed readout?

It doesn't need to say anything other than the speed.

Sure seems to be effective, too. Considering the indicated 39 km/h.
