Oh I dont. Its the summer, news is slow. I was surprised that Vardy signed for Leicester for so little so it kind of makes sense that this was done so he'd have a contract and Leicester could get some cash out him via transfer and he could get higher wages elsewhere.
Round and round and round Vardy goes, where he ends up nobody knows!
Ultimately though, I'd stick with Leicester, renegotiate my wages to something insane, have as great a run as possible and do the best I can from there. The guy is almost 30. Make what you can and stick with what works. He doesnt have time to experiment.

He'll be a folk legend at Leicester if he stays there. He'll probably be getting booed by December if he went to Arsenal. As long as the money is close it seems like an easy decision to me.

well don't forget that Vardy is 30 in January. This could be his only chance to go to a big club and really cash in. I'd agree that staying at Leicester would be the smart decision, but I can see the appeal.

Some pretty salacious rumours out there about David De Gea. Right now it's kinda blurry because its translated from a Spanish source, but it does not sound good if true.

and according to the latest update of the Spanish press, there are no allegations against any player and there won't be any unless they somehow found any proof of the original claims.

from what I can gather, it seems that Iker Muniain and another footballer met with a prostitute back in 2012 and she claims that they raped her. Apparently De Gea was the one who fascilitated the contact between Muniain and the prostitute. This all came to surface now during investigations against a Spanish porn producer, who faces allegations of human trafficking and rape and who has ties to the prostitute.
All pretty murky, but again: there's no allegations against the players. The media says that the police investigated for quite a while, but didn't find anything. Claims of De Gea being sent home are not true at all.

Koemans move to Everton is done. Former Southampton goalie Artur Boruc tweeted "No words for this one... #money #loyalty" and attached this:

Or not.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not be allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund until the end of his existing contract amid interest from Manchester United and Arsenal, the club's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has confirmed.
"We've been negotiating a new deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan for four months," he confirmed in Bild. "We now know he won't sign an extension. There was never a promise that he can leave us prematurely."

I guess this is where Dortmund have drawn their line in the sand.

Perhaps its time for the 2016/2017 thread now that the schedule is out for next year?

yeah, because Watzke hasn't lied before
They'll sell. Ultimately they don't really have a choice at this point - after selling both Hummels and Gündogan (who were in the same situation in terms of contract length), they'll never get Mkhitaryan and Raiola to sit out their final contract year. Raiola has already started burning bridges.
They have obviously rejected United's first bid (€24m according to Bild). They are now in full save face mode, trying to up the price and finding a suitable alternative (according to rumours they want Yarmolenko). If United (or Arsenal/Chelsea/whoever) end up offering around €35m, Watzke will sell and simply say that the circumstances have changed. This is not Watzke's first dance.

Watzke did ok with the Hummels scenario, all considering.

All things considered Dortmund have raked in a fair bit of cash on their sales so far.
And Watzke never lies, his truth and our truth are simply the victims of timing differences.

yeah. Most of it is already gone though.
+ €38m for Mats Hummels
+ €27m for Ilkay Gündogan
- €14m for Sebastian Rode
- €12m for Raphael Guerreiro
- €10m for Emre Mor
- €8m for Marc Bartra
- €8m for Ousmane Dembele
- €4m for Mikel Merino
so they have about 9m left from the Hummels/Gündogan cash and are reportedly still after a CB and a CAM. Plus that Dembele deal is heavy on bonuses.

But thats fine, thats still a good bit of business. Hummels and Gundogan wanted out, Hummels is awesome and Gundogan is good when fit, but the sale of two players is essentially funding their rebuild.
