As someone who doesn't pay enough attention to the 'drama' and just wanted to see if there was any good phone deals:

I've been on the other end of these pile ons, and it is easy to just join the group think and call him terrible, but I'm genuinely interested on what caused this, because nothing in this thread is really all that damning, "crime wise"
Bought his girl friend an engagement ring and both appear to be employed when they said they weren't but I agree that all of it could be explainable. Also claimed he didn't know how to set up a go fund me for the homeless one but one was already set up for his medical one. But I didn't donate any money so I don't have any standing either way.

Raised $6000+ dollars from various online communities for his surgeries/getting out of homelessness/getting back on his feet. Posts pictures of engagement ring to GF, xbox one controllers, mediocre suits, gym selfies.

Was setting up to ask people for more money in the original post. "Oh no, my bills aren't paid but thank you all for the help." Posted the exact same "thank you" to multiple online communities as well.

Also said posts were actual copy and paste's clearly showing the lack of effort... Mentioned "Thor" "Calgary Puck" and "CP" as members or the forum on a different forum.

He also had a chance to come in and post, but didn't. Had multiple chances to have his message posted by the mods or another poster after getting sin bin'd, and refused. And is currently doing everything he can to scrub his online existence by deleting almost anything related to this. He may not have committed a crime, but clearly what he did is immoral and a terrible look and he knows it.

On the PIMKing thing, this is what I can't resolve: On Sept 30th, he posts a down on his luck story about being homeless and his troubles with women.

24 hours later, he posts on his facebook that he has been paid and is buying a house.

On Oct 16th (just over two weeks from then), he is engaged to be married.

Something just isn't quite right.

I can't imagine what he pm'd that pylon and co. let up on him. From everything posted in that thread he seems like a real piece of shi*t and doesn't deserve any sympathy. Creepy detective work or not. You lose your right to privacy on the internet the moment you do something like that. GF? He brought her into his BS story.

Just caught up on the PIM thing. I never really liked him as a poster so I avoided reading threads started by him until you guys mentioned it here.

Has anyone that donated to him considered filing a complaint with the FBI or Tampa police?

This whole scenario is showing the collective power of CP (and any such community really). On one hand, sweeping generosity for who was an active contributing member down on their luck. Is exposed as a fraud. Sweeping hate and social media jihads.

I find it wildly entertaining.

My buddy who lurks here made a good point when we talked about this last night. What are you going to say? "I gave money to a guy on the internet who said he needed money and now it turns out he didn't actually need it"? I don't think there's much recourse criminally. He didn't pose as a charity or anything.

Talking to his employers and spreading the news throughout the internet on the other hand....

I feel bad about the whole thing. I have made a number of friendships and met a number of CP posters through buy & sell, or even random events. Shame that it only takes one scumbag to disrupt the great community we have here.

Always a few bad apples in the cart. CP is still and awesome place with great people.

Well it's too bad PIMking and I had disagreements on guns to the point where I ignored most of his activities and completely missed his whole scam.
I wonder if he ever pawned those or kept them in his car in case of zombie apocalypse.
