Yeah, first back to back shutouts in 16 years
I am curious when was the last time the Yankees were held to 1 run in a 3 game series at home. Haven't been able to find out yet but I am guessing it's been a while.
One run in 28 innings is insane. The Yankees held the Jays to 10 runs in 3 games, which is pretty damn good, and they got their asses handed to them for their trouble.
Just incredible.
To put into perspective how good their pitching has been, here are the leading team ERAs since the All Star break:
TOR: 2.37
HOU: 3.20
LAA: 3.54
Almost a full run per game better than the 2nd best team. Not bad.

Stupid question, new to baseball but what is the point for this series? It's not the playoffs is it?

This is like the movie Moneyball except without the reliance on analytics. Instead we just bought all the players and are crushing everyone else like little bugs

There's 162 games, so to reduce travel all games are played in series of 2 to 4 games. They just finished playing the Royals 3 times, then off to Minnesota for 4 games, now NYY for 3

The whole season is played out in 2,3 and 4 game series between all the teams. This was just one of the six series played between the Yankees and Jays this year.

If the Jays win it AA will forever be have a job for life in the city. Not bad for a guy who just a few weeks back to many, wasn't a good GM.

Yeah the 2002 A's just crushed the #### out of everyone with their fantasy lineup, you're right. Pretty much the same team.
I was more remarking on how the Jays started so bad and are now just rolling, like the As did. Apparently that flew over your head or you just like to be flippant about a benign comment from a happy fan.

Holy shi....cow! This is a good ball club. Everybody knows about the hitting but Estrada, Buehrle , and Dickey have been very good since the break. Price is just phenomenal. It's a deep staff right now.
What a summer.

Happy little acronym that came from the first 5 batters in the Blue Jays lineup in 1993 (not 1992 which included Dave Winfield). White, Alomar, Molitor, Carter, Olerud. WAMCO sounds like a company created just to smack the crap out of a baseball. They had a dominant offense that year and were supplemented by guys like Borders, Sprague, and Fernandez.

Sorry my bad. I thought you were referring to the recent trend of low scoring games as evidence of us playing small ball. I look at it as we can't expect 6+ runs all the time and it's awesome how our pitching is finally picking up the slack.

Orioles just played themselves out of the race, that was pretty stupid.

Plus they added Ricky Henderson that year, later in the season.
What a team that was.
