a) Get a glimpse how this whole thing started, something the main show was likely never to get in to
b) Get my TWD fix
c) See this from another groups perspective
So much awesome.

Actually looks pretty good. Will be very cool to see it from day 1. It also seems to be scarier than TWD, kind of like it was back in season 1. They showed a lot so I hope this was not everything that we can expect, then again with what they showed this could just an action packed 1 or 2 episodes.
Felt like a really slow start, I get that they need to do character building but there really wasn't much back story yet, and since when do walkers just disappear like from the church? Would have like to seen more news broadcasting or the YouTube style viral video in the opening episode.. but overall it was a good TWD fix for the summer!
Neat seeing things pre-tipping point. Seems like a lot is going to be milked from the audience knowing what the characters don't. Banging and crashing along into isolated buildings, shouting out for people, walkers stabbed in the chest. And the dialogue: "There are no bodies. They couldn't have just got up and walked away."
I imagine a lot of shouting at the TV as people watch this.
Slow pace, zero action, weak dialogue, I don't care about any of the characters yet (I get that this takes time.) I'm willing to give the show lots of chances because it's Walking Dead, but what an awful start.

Slow, but understandable because they have a lot of characters to set up at the beginning, the story lines aren't really separate like TWD was at the beginning. My one gripe was all the goddamned commercials. AMC is just terrible for this...

I was really hoping all of the main characters would get killed off at the end of the episode, so we could start from scratch on episode 2. Such a boring group. The ad for the second episode looks a bit more promising with the shop owner. Wish they hadn't killed off the one potentially interesting character already. They could have had a good dynamic with sketchy McSketch brains. instead they focused on the "family". Ugh.
