I used to go over at Sweetgrass all the time for the sole purpose of picking stuff up and wouldn't declare. Half the time they didn't even ask.

This is what Elliot Friedman has implied to be the focal point of the termination

^^ That is such a BS clause.

So open to interpretation.

Going by that, Voynov should have his contract terminated, along with many other NHLers over the years.

Gonna be so choked if LA gets away with this.

Nothing more than the fact that both sides are now talking when apparently they were not before.

Well yes and no. Its ambiguous but difficult to enforce one way or the other.

The ability to terminate a contract does not necessitate doing so. Voynov is still a potentially useful defenceman. Brad Richards is a boat anchor. There's no morality involved in either decision for the Kings.

Oxycodone.....no way LA should be out of the contract for that IMO. Oxycodone are prescription painkillers right?

Not if this is the first time he's had issues with them. Different story if they've tried to help him get over them more than a couple of times. Or perhaps violated a team agreement that he's not permitted to be in possesion of it. There's definitely varying levels where there can be precedent for the league and team to move on this.

If he hasn't been charged he may have been caught carrying the pills without a prescription and they are checking to see if he has one.

Also a high-profile drug after the passing of Derek Boogaard.

Is the issue then that they were not prescribed by doctors?

At any rate, if he has a drug problem then the Kings should at least offer him help.
