The need for Pre Game and Post Game Shows
I've seen this mentioned numerous times in the game threads. People complain that we don't get to see one or the other, and I don't understand what the big deal is? In this day and age of social media, we have up to the second updates on whats going on before and after the game. We have a place like CP to discuss the game, why do we need a network to devote time pre and post game to the Flames, especially if most people here seem to hate what the media has to say anyways?

Generally lots of pre-game and post game on the Flames website, here and on the radio.

It makes me feel like a big man if networks feature my team in pre-and-post shows. It makes the product feel more polished. When my team is not featured, it makes me feel like a sad orphan and that my team is 3 steps away from folding forever.

Or a Canucks loss. Those are epic! Nothing like listening to Canuck fans calling in after a loss.

I find the pre-game entirely useless but wouldn't mind a post game to talk about the game that just happened.

Same. Pregame is nice though, but really everything needed to be known about the game has already been said by the time 2nd half of the doubleheader started.
Post games should be done though to reflect on the game and what's next. It doesn't even need to be that long either. That's something TSN could've done better at.

I don't find myself agreeing wholeheartedly with Moon all that often, but he's got it this time. I often get annoyed with pre-game shows and flip channels back and forth and back and forth until I hear the anthems.
I find I get more than enough pre-game on CP.

I like pregame show intro music.
I like analysts setting up the game. Player interviews on the ice. Maybe a player feature away from the ice. Stuff like that.
Hockey needs to improve this. If you guys think pre-game stuff sucks it is because it is not being done well.

I don't think it sucks, I just don't see a need for it in this day and age

True that information is everywhere but it can still be entertaining seeing that human interaction instead of just reading the starting lineup on CP.
I like football pre-games and how they yuk it up while doing cool features.

The player interviews on the ice I find offer nothing but the usual stock player answers- "skate hard" "play our game" "they are a good team" etc.
And the puff player features are boring as hell (imo) but that is true for all sports not just hockey.
I wouldn't mind a 10 minute show to set up the lines maybe some last minute updates on injuries and a sentence or two from the experts on what they expect but that is about all I want pre-game. The other stuff is just filler which is better suited for garbage like Flames This Week or whatever that show is called.

Great post game analysis so far. Healy ripping on the Flames despite the win, mentioning how LA looked clearly the better team all night, so doubling down on his earlier comments.
Stock mentioning the Flames won because they kept the GA down, as they can't score many goals. And we have better scoring than the Kings.
Yeah, I don't care if there's ever a post game.

I find that pre and post game shows for every game can get tiring by the end of the season.
That's one of the reasons I prefer our format on Fireside Chat, kind of wrapping all the week's games and happenings into one big show.

That's because HNIC is a joke, not because of the concept of the post-game show.
I enjoy the Kerr-Simmer post game comments.
