very nervous at the beginning, but settled in. Had a great opportunity from a Cammalleri setup, but Backstrom robbed him. His skating looks a bit awkward, but he keeps up out there. Big body and smart out there. Gets a lot of minutes so far and doesn't look out of place in my book.

Looked terrified early on. Was getting rid of the puck as soon as he got it etc. Had a beauty give and go with Cammalleri later in the period where he drove the net and got a redirection off that would have went in had it not gone right back towards Backstrom.

Second period he has been steady so far. Has made a couple good passes and looked alot more comfortable.

It's for the best, but you can't be mad at this effort. Love it.

Anyone know if we can buy those Support the Troops hats if we're not at the game?

Well I'll try. He's always been a great leader and hard worker. I don't think you have to worry about him not giving full effort on the ice. He's got very quick hands and great hand-eye coordination that allow him to be a natural scorer. He won't have the hardest shot or be the smoothest or fastest skater on the team but then you'll look and see him be in the right position to make a play. He anticipates well and has very good vision on the ice. He's physical and plays with a good bit of "attitude". Once he settles down, he'll adjust to the speed and physicality of the NHL. I hope you all enjoy following him as much as we do.

Oh and if the Flames have an off-season baseball team, they also acquired their starting shortstop and #3 hitter! Go Sobieski!

I'd like to know this too. I love the way they look.

Close your eyes and say my name and I'll take you far away. To a place where you and I can be.. without everyone to say, na na na na na na.. and I'll take you far away.

Like Reinhart's play along the boards. Wins a lot of battles.

Thanks to everyone that provided me with their own assessments, really appreciate it. The one thing i wanted to see was how good of a skater he is and for the three shifts I've seen, I'm not disappointed at all. It looks like he has some good balance and a fast first step.

He also looks really big out there, its nice that no one will have to use the phrase, "he'll still have to grow into his body" so I'm very much looking forward to the 3rd period. Has anyone notice if he has been taking the body and laying some nice hits?

Some people want desperately to be seen as anti-diving they will assume anything looking suspicious is embellishment and make sure they publicly announce it for everyone to see. I blame the Canucks for this syndrome.
