Simpsons go to New York - Best Episode...I've never laughed so hard:
Khlav Kalash Vendor: Fresh Khlav kalash! Get your khlav kalash!
Homer: Hey, uh, could you go across the street and get me a slice of pizza?
Khlav Kalash Vendor: No pizza, only khlav kalash.
Homer: Aw, shoot... Oh, all right, all right, gimme one bowl.
Khlav Kalash Vendor: [whips out something reddish on a stick] No bowl, stick, stick.
Homer: [Homer buys one, tries it] Oh, geez! That's just awful.
[finishes it]
Homer: Now, what do you have to wash that awful taste out of my mouth?
Khlav Kalash Vendor: Mountain Dew or Crab Juice.
Homer: Blecch! Ew! Sheesh! I'll take a crab juice.
[Homer drinks the can of crab juice, then several more]
Homer: [burps] Uh-oh. Uh, you got a men's room in there?
Khlav Kalash Vendor: [disturbed] Only khlav kalash. Men's room in tower. Tower! Observation deck!

That episode's great, one of my faves.
Tom: His FATHER?!? The drunken gambler?
Homer: That's right, and who might you be?

The greatest show of all time.... but the vast majority of episodes have been poor since ~2003, with a decline earlier than that.
I hope it's not cancelled because I still feel it can return to past glory.... but maybe it has to pull a Futurama.
I honestly couldn't stand a Sunday night line up dominated by only Seth MacFarlane cartoons, all of which are far worse than even the poor Simpsons episodes now.
They changed a lot of things over the last 10 years which made the series great in the first place. They've completely changed each character. Homer from a lovable fool to an unlikable idiot, Marge from a vicarious mother to a nagging killjoy, Bart from calm and cool to a 10 year old crybaby, Lisa from witty, nagging but fun to simply lugubrious.... and the delivery of the jokes, the secret to the series.... gone.

Russic and I were talking the other day and thought it would be interesting for The Simpsons to drop the celebrity voices and try to get some celebrity writers instead. It's be cool to see Conan O'Brian come back and write an episode. I'd like to see what Larry David would do with the characters or even Seth MacFarlane (though Family Guy is pretty brutal these days). Judd Apatow? Joss Whedon? While it seems to be a badge of honor for celebrities to be a voice on The Simpsons I think it could be cool to seem some of the talented hollywood writers take a shot.

Well, I for one am glad it's been renewed. I had given up watching it for probably close to eight years because I thought it stopped being funny, but when I went and watched some of last season's episodes I thought they were actually really good again. I will gladly watch them on the regular again.

Two of my favorite shows:
Clown College episode, so much win.
"oohh! New Billboard day!"
"Clown college? You can't eat that!"
The Close encounters of the 3rd kind spoof where he makes the circus tent out of mashed potatoes.
Krusty asking them to burn the bicycle seat after Homer's pants get caught up in it and his ass hangs out.
The "speed holes" in the car, and Homer later taking a pick-axe to his car.
Krusty betting against the Globetrotters.
Other episode was Treehouse of Horror I don't know which number, it was the one where Homer sells his soul for a doughnut, and Flanders is the Devil.
*Devil appears*
Marge: Ned! You're the devil????
Flanders: Hey Bart
Bart: Hey.
Hell feeding Homer all the doughnuts in the world.
I remember seeing an episode with a deleted scene where Bart keeps saying "I'd sell my soul for 'x'" and Flanders would appear for it, until Marge yells at Bart to stop bothering the Devil.

Just watched that episode last night, I agree that its their best Treehouse of Horror ever. It's from season 5 by the way, making it ToH IV (they started in season 2).
"I give you the jury of the damned. Benedict Arnold, Lizzie Borden, Richard Nixon...John Wilkes Booth, Blackbeard the Pirate, John Dillinger, and the starting line of the 1976 Philadelphia Flyers!"

I don't watch it regularly anymore but catch the odd episode now and then...as said by most not near as great as it once was. There are many good classic episodes mentioned here, my personal favorite is probably Homer's Enemy from season 8. The one with Frank Grimes (or Grimey as he liked to be called lol) , I still get laughs from that episode when I catch the rerun.

The Grimes episode of the Simpson's was probably one of the strongest ones and truly put a magnifying glass on the Simpson's family for what it is, and thats the lucky recipiant of the American Dream at the time.
If anything Homer is a 1% and Frank Grimes is the 99% that is either getting screwed or thinks he's getting screwed.
The Scorpio episode was brilliant, and the Halloween Episode where Lisa wishes for global disarmament only to leave the world wide open to Aliens using boards with a nail driven into it continues to be one of my favorites.

There have been many great lines and scenes during the course of The Simpsons, but some reason this one I found hilarious, I still giggle when I remember it.
Lisa was in over her head doing something noble, ambitious or whatever, so Marge and Homer decide to help her out.
Homer sets up shop in the garage or whatever to help make whatever it is that Lisa needs....
"Marge, I'm pulling an all nighter for my little girl. Put on a pot of coffee! .... drink it and start making burgers...."

You get an ungodly number of DVDs.

My parents bought a chinese bootleg set consisting of the first 17 seasons. Of course, the quality is terrible (you can see the original tv station logo in lower corner where it was taped ), but it's only 9 DVD's in total
