"Man Getaway" in Western Canada?
Hey folks,
6 of us are planning a "Guys Wekeend" sometime between now and the middle of June. 4 of us are 35 yrs old, 1 is 31, and 1 is 21, and 4 of us are married.
We have thought about flying to NY, Vegas, LA, etc, but we only have Friday to Sunday and the given flight times to those cities dictates that a huge portion of the weekend is spent on planes or in airports.
Is there anything especially cool to do in Saskatchewan, Alberta, or BC?
We have thought about such things as going quadding in the mountains (if somewhere guides and rents quads), a golf weekend in BC (dunno where exactly), perhaps camping.
Any other great ideas? What would everyone's ideal getaway be within 4-8 hours driving distance of Calgary?

Personally, I'd go camping.
Bring a few cold ones. Maybe bring quads if you have them. Depending on where you camp, you could even play some golf on one of the days. (Kananaskis/Fernie etc etc)

We dont own quads and would have to rent and trailer them. But, all of use absolutely love snowmobiling in the mountains, and I imagine quads would be a similarly great time.

I do a golf in BC trip every year. We go to Radium/Invermere/Fairmont area. Hot Springs are there, and plenty of different courses with various difficulty levels.
Plenty of townhouses to rent around there so you can sit around, drink, eat and golf.

Don't stress yourself over it. As long as you can't physically see the wife, it's going to be a great Getaway no matter where you go or what you do.

Go hiking/camping on Van Island - might be late to get on the West Coast Trail but the Juan de Fuca trail is just as cool. Our last boys trip was up to Cape Scott park on the north tip of the island (flew into Comox and rented a truck to make it up there).

My brother was just telling me about some great deals they have at Kokanee Springs golf club right now.
He said something like 2 nights accomodation, 2 rounds of golf for $300. Might want to look into it further. A guys golf trip through the Kimberley, Inveremere, Radium area would be awesome.
Have fun!

Invermere area has all that you need.
There are town homes you can rent, 5 Excellent golf courses within 20 minutes.
Here is a Link for Quad tours in the mountains:

Also if you wanted to there is a place that you can rent boats/ Seadoo's for the day or weekend.

I can't recommend places to stay, but there are some campgrounds in the area, just make sure you don't stay at one of the Indian bands campgrounds. I believe there is a no alcohol policy at all of them.

Go to Vegas - it is, without a shadow of a doubt worth the extra time spent on the plane.
My buddies and I just got back on Monday night and had the best trip of my life.
