This really does seem like a strong fan base and very solid potential relocation destination. A fairly large population base, with a limited history with sport and seems to be strongly supporting their AHL Franchise.

The one big stumbling block (besides the obvious arena issue) in my mind is what is the corporate base of Hartford? are there companies that can help stabalize and invest in a franchise? Is this economics of the area changing into a white collar center or is still a blue collar/industrial centre?
This could be a very successful idea for the NHL and I think would mimic the success with the Wild.
IMO this is a far more attractive proposition than anything Winnipeg will be able to offer in the next 5-7 years.
