Default Best fish and chips in town

In Calgary you've gotta try Sea ..... http://www.seadotfishnchips.com/

Great food!

And in Okotoks.... you can't beat Mr Spud Cafe (a little hole in the wall restaurant on Elizabeth St) for great fish & chips.

I've yet to eat anywhere else that has the fish and chip quality that these two restaurants have.

The Brittish Chippy has awesome fish and chips. They're a little pricey and have some odd hours, but damn good fish and chips.

The Dog and Duck pub just off of Macleod and 55th (behind the mowhawk station in that little white house) has awesome Fish and chips. The original owner was a true Brit, so he really knew what he was doing.

Swiss Chalet just added fish and chips to their menu. I know it's not exactly considered "real" fish n chips, but it's not bad. It's a nice addition for those of us single types who pretty much live off of delivery.

Joey's Only USED to have good fish and chips.... (particularly the old restaurant on 17th Ave SW (no longer there now))... but its now become a restaurant chain and the quality has gone down hill.

I remember the days when you could sit down at the counter and they would only use fresh fish and they would hand batter it in front of your eyes and then deep fry it while you watched.... and on Tuesdays you could have all the fries you could eat.

Those days are long gone. Now its all cookie cutter pre-packaged frozen food.

Kind of like the way Tim Hortons donuts used to be and the way they are now.

At Sea they wrap their take out fish n chips in newspaper.... well actually they first wrap it in clean white paper sheets and THEN they re-wrap it in newspaper.

x2 for the Dog & Duck. I used to eat there all the time and their food is actually pretty good, especially the fish & chips. Boyd's on the corner of Macleod & 52nd isn't bad either.

Not in Calgary, but Bottomley's Fish & Chips in Lethbridge is fantastic. It's not cheap, but it's the real, honest-to-goodness, paper-wrapped deal.
