I've been out in the real world the past couple of years and didn't realize there were problems. . . ?

They received a 'stiff' reprimand from Allan Ingleson for some weekend indiscretions that took place.

Evidently they got caught. There are rumours of a competition that involved drinking taking place, vomiting ensued, Ingleson lost his patience, etc. Its all very vaguely identified....

That's too bad. Back in my day that was a prime pre-drinking hangout. However I think it was fairly low-key and contained to the offices; unless you actually saw students drinking there was no other evidence.

Yeah, you see that would probably be okay, and Allen let alot of things go for a long time. This year they're putting their empties on the window sills so everyone who walks by can see them and the 'tournament' happened and I think he lost his patience.

1 hour and 35 minutes until beer time.

I'm 41. And part Irish. Around 200 lbs. Make my own wine. Still can drink a lot, but the hang-overs are much worse.

I could use it

it's not a shooter drink, it's a long termer one. Watch yourself on it though

I resemble all of those remarks ... except I have about 5 more years mileage on my liver. So ... we'll send a veteran drinking team to Europe then ... even better.

If we're sending a team to Europe we need representation from across the country. I'll take one for the team and go to represent Atlantic Canada, that and with my weight (I'm a skinny boy but can still drink like a pro) it'll help drop the team's weight average.

That was the homecoming drink at Mac. In residence we made a garbage can full of it and were well lubricated for the homecoming game (and with Mac's team in those days, we needed it). It always made for interesting physical effects later on in the day.

BTW: This guy is really pulling his weight:

Dublin's famous Guinness brewery has been the victim of an audacious theft.

A man drove a truck into the brewery on Victoria Quay, Dublin 8, yesterday evening; hitched up a trailer containing 450 kegs of different beers; and drove off into Dublin's traffic just as rush-hour got under way.

The haul contained 180 kegs of Guinness, 180 kegs of Budweiser and 90 kegs of Carlsberg and has a total value of €64,000. In the pubs, the loot would represent approximately 40,500 pints and a whopping bar tab of approximately €160,000.

No problem ... there's always room for a Maritimer on Canada's National Drinking Team. I once hit a bar in Sydney Mines at about 11:30 in the morning on a weekday and the place was packed. Gotta love that kind of enthusiasm.

Whoah! I have beers maybe once every couple weeks, but on the way home from the game tonight I thought "damn a beer would go down good right now" and so I *AM* for once actually at my computer, drinkin' a beer. What are the chances?

Wait, have you forgotten those Aussies in Austria that asked us to quiet down and quit partying so they could sleep? Pussies.
Now that New Zealander in Heidelberg was more fun. Nothing like a guy falling, literally, on his face repeatedly. Nothing to break his fall, no attempt to break his fall. Kept getting up though, for a while. "Full on Mates!" He couldn't keep up either.
I still don't think the Alcool/water trick was funny. Of course I was on the Alcool end of it!

What on earth were you doing drinking in Sydney Mines? I'm trying to remember the name of the sketchy sketchy sketchy bar there.

I was 20 years old and touring Cape Breton. When you're 20, the first place to stop in every town is always the local watering hole.

I don't recall the name of the bar either, but you're right, it was rather sketchy. The place was hopping though and it wasn't even noon yet.

Not near as much as the Europeans who go to Thailand, Australia and New Zealand do though. I've never seen people in my life slam it back like the Euro's I met in Australia (the folks from the UK in particular), and they said they had to tone it down a lot from what they were drinking in Thailand. Than again for them it was pocket change to drink 20 beer a night and smoke two packs of cigarettes in a place like Thailand. Back home that money wouldn't buy them one drink and a couple smokes.
