Wow, that's quite an extensive list of possible penalties... and I don't think I've heard more than half of those.

Wow that "deliberately falling on puck" for goaltenders penalty seems whack. From what I can see, they usually do that all game.

I like this one: "Using blocking glove to punch opponent in head."

Wouldn't they just call that roughing or something? And does that mean you are allowed to used your glove hand instead?

And what exactly is "clipping". I think I've seen it called before, but I'm not sure what it really is.

I believe clipping is... delivering a hit below the knees... someone please correct me...

I always thought that a clipping call was when someone engauged in a block has another player take him out below his knees. oops wrong sport.

Yeah I believe so. Denis Gauthier got clipping penalties a couple times with the Flames for what appeared to be hip checks that took out the legs of the opponents. I don't think they deserved to be called clipping though because Gauthier remained on his skates. If you deliver a hip check that takes out the other player at the thighs should that really be called clipping? Not in my opinion.

I think in the Flames versus LA game Preissing could have got a clipping penalty at the end because he threw his body along the ice to keep the puck from clearing the zone and in the process tripped up a Flames player who was trying to clear it.

I've seen punching to the head with the blocker called before. It was hilarious.

Goaltender penalties: throwing the puck toward opponent’s goal
What the puck? Is this like if the goalie tries to long bomb the puck into an empty net? That is hilarious.

Seriously, this should not be a penalty. Think of all the entertainment value it would add in the dying seconds.

Four more infractions will draw 4 minutes in the box, and there also are 13 5-minute majors, with fighting the only one of these guaranteed to draw an offsetting penalty against the opposition.
Rene Bourque would beg to differ

Probably the best penalty I ever heard was during a Rocky Thompson fight in Fredericton, the opposing player got two extra minutes for "pulling the hair"
