Iggy is our captain and will be until he retires. Yah, I said it. Next time, bump the "I Love Gio" thread and spare us.

Based on his emotion level and effort I wouldn't say no. Won't speculate how he is in the room tho.

It's a joke. But hey you can keep crying. I think a lot of good things came from the game tonight.

Gio is awesome. He's outperformed the 6M+/year guys on our defence. If he had a larger body of work he could've maybe been headed for the Olympics.

Maybe we need to send everyone to Russia for a year.

Gio is my favorite Flame this year. Everyone else has been a debacle of monumental proportions.

Phaneuf has easily been better all year, but I am sure many will ignore that.

But that said Giordano has been a nice surprise.

I would definitely give him the 'A'. Take the letter off Regehr and give it to Gio cause at least he creates stuff out there. He's easily been the Flames best defenseman all year with Phaneuf a close 2nd.

What a goal though!

Regardless of whether he's captain material or not, he's been the most consistent defenseman all season and one of the few guys that can be counted on to show up every night.

I shudder to think about Sutter never offering him a spot back on the team after his season in Russia and him landing on another team.

Whats so dumb about it. The guy has the biggest heart and is the hardest worker on the team. I don't get nervous when he jumps in, because regardless of how badly he gets caught, he will kill himself to get back into the play.

I mentioned the Gio captaincy suggestion to a friend a few weeks ago and got laughed at, but it looks like I am not the only one thinking it. Sutters #1 priority after straightening out the current mess, should be locking Gio up long term. If he doesn't someone is going to give this guy a monster contract after next season.
