Stern, Bullard, Langkow, Conroy ... some characters like Marsh and Fotiu.

Went Conroy as 22 was his hey day

I love Langkow and ultimately I think he will be looked back on as our best #22. However, Conroy had some great years in this number, and his contributions in 2004 give him the nod right now (not the least of which was finding the abandoned green hard hat in the depths of the Saddledome).

Just like Yelle gets credit for the turnaround of the culture of the team, Conroy should too.

And he was a large part of the emergence of Iginla as a superstar.

Add to that the class exhibited when he gave up the captaincy to Iginla. At the time it was an iffy move in my mind, but in the end, it was the right one. Iggy was clearly ready and took the team to enormous heights.

The epic interviews only cement it in my mind.

Strictly on the ice, Langkow will likely end up being the best #22, but I don't think his overall contributions will equal Conroy's. I'd love to see him prove me wrong though!

Yep, had to pick Conroy due to his contributions as #22.

Ask me again in a few years and I may have a different answer.

In the future (hopefully) ... Langkow.

Bullard was an easy choice. In his 2 years with the Flames he scored 157 (76-81-157) points.

Just can't get over the 04 Conroy. I'll never forget when he wired that puck from the point, down 2-0, and put it right under the bar. Then he turned to the bench and said "Come on", motioning for the boys to step it up, were still in this type of thing.

Just such a great guy and had some good offensive seasons with the Flames.

That was my thought too--but apparently there are only 5 of us.

Went with Conroy, strong argument for Langkow.

but from the past, can not go wrong with Ronnie Stern.

Bullard could score, but he never had half the character of Conroy, Langkow or Stern, certainly not as tough as them either.

Sorry for the brief off-topic here, but speaking of Bullard ... wasn't he involved in a career-ending injury? Somehow I think he was, but I can't remember if he sustained it or administered it.

Also, if he put up so many points with the Flames, why isn't he more well-known?

Depends on the age bracket. Most posters here are too young to have seen him play.

Bullard went on to play for, like, an eternity (11 seasons) over in Germany after his NHL career was over. He couldn't have been hurt that badly.

Hard to vote for someone you haven't seen play. Which includes most members here.

One of many who is too boring; thinks that there should be rules regarding grammar in custom user titles, and also makes moderators wonder if there is a charachter limit here. I mean come on- you would think that would be a limitation in the software

Langkow. Conroy had a fantastic season, and a couple decent ones, but Langkow is a better player overall.

As it stands now, Conroy. Langkow should soon overtake him though.
